Provincial Party Deputy Secretary Chau Thi My Phuong attends memorial ceremony for heroic martyrs in Dao Thanh Ward

(DTO) – On the morning of July 24, marking the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27, 1947 – July 27, 2026), the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dao Thanh Ward held a wreath-laying, incense-offering, and memorial ceremony in honor of the nation's heroic martyrs.

Ms. Chau Thi My Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee and Head of the National Assembly Deputies’ Delegation of Dong Thap Province, together with delegates and leaders of Dao Thanh Ward, offers incense in tribute to the heroic martyrs.

Attending the ceremony were Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai Thu, former Member of the Party Central Committee, former Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, and former Chairwoman of the National Assembly’s Committee for Social Affairs; Ms. Chau Thi My Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee and Head of the National Assembly Deputies’ Delegation of Dong Thap Province; Senior Lieutenant Colonel Le Thi Hieu Tam, Hero of the People's Armed Forces; former members of the Standing Committee of the former Tien Giang Provincial Party Committee; former leaders of the former Tien Giang Province and the former My Tho City Party Committee through various periods; representatives of provincial departments and agencies; as well as local leaders and residents in the ward.

Ms. Chau Thi My Phuong respectfully offers incense in remembrance of the heroic martyrs.

During the ceremony, delegates solemnly laid wreaths, offered incense, and observed a minute of silence to honor the immense sacrifices made by the heroic martyrs in the struggle for national liberation, reunification, and the defence of the Fatherland.

The memorial ceremony carries profound humanitarian significance, helping educate patriotic traditions and rekindle the moral principles of "when drinking water, remember the source" and "expressing gratitude to those with meritorious service to the revolution". It also reflects the attention of local Party committees and authorities in caring for policy beneficiary families and people with meritorious service to the revolution.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Trinh Van Loi, Secretary of the Dao Thanh Ward Party Committee and Chairman of the Ward People's Council, recalled the historical significance of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27) and expressed profound gratitude for the tremendous sacrifices and contributions of heroic martyrs, war invalids, sick soldiers, people with meritorious service to the revolution, and families who devoted their youth, blood, and bones to the cause of fighting for independence, freedom, and national reunification.

Mr. Trinh Van Loi affirmed that the Party organisation, local authorities, and people of Dao Thanh Ward will always remember those who heroically sacrificed their lives for the Fatherland, the war invalids and sick soldiers who left part of their blood and bones on the battlefield, as well as the mothers, fathers, wives, husbands, and relatives of martyrs who quietly endured immense pain and loss, contributing to the peace enjoyed today.

Promoting the tradition of "when drinking water, remember the source," Dao Thanh Ward will continue to pay greater attention to better performing gratitude activities, caring for the material and spiritual lives of people with meritorious service and martyrs’ families. 

At the same time, the ward will step up patriotic education and cultivate revolutionary ideals for the younger generation, contributing to spreading noble values and building an increasingly prosperous, civilised, and compassionate homeland.
