10 Outstanding Activities of Dong Thap Trade Union in 2025
(DTO) 2025 was a year of special significance for the Dong Thap Trade Union. Amidst the restructuring of the local government apparatus and the merger of provincial-level administrative units, the Trade Union successfully organized congresses at all levels, leading up to the 1st Dong Thap Provincial Trade Union Congress for the 2025-2030 tenure.
Despite numerous challenges, Trade Unions across the province demonstrated an innovative and responsible spirit, achieving comprehensive and outstanding results.
Caring for the lives of members and workers remained a core task. During the 2025 At Ty Lunar New Year, the province supported nearly 200,000 members and workers with a total budget of over 102.5 billion VND.

(1st Tenure, 2025 - 2030).
Many practical activities were launche, including gift-giving, cash assistance, “Trade Union Tet Markets,” providing bus tickets, and organizing transportation to take workers home for Tet in a safe and compassionate manner—spreading the spirit of humanity and sharing throughout society.
Implementing the guidelines of the Party, the State, and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, the Dong Thap Trade Union successfully streamlined and reorganized its apparatus. The newly established Dong Thap Provincial Federation of Labour was formed through mergers; the trade union system was restructured toward reducing intermediary levels and strengthening grassroots units, with the establishment of 84 commune- and ward-level trade unions and trade unions in industrial parks and economic zones, contributing to improved operational efficiency.
Despite organizational changes, Trade Union congresses at all levels were held on schedule, ensuring principles and promoting democracy.
Notably, the 1st Dong Thap Provincial Trade Union Congress, term 2025–2030, was successfully organized, marking a historic milestone and defining new orientations, goals, and tasks for the workers’, civil servants’, and labor movement, as well as Trade Union activities in the new period.
In 2025, the province organized 54 “Trade Union Meals” with the participation of 38,748 union members, totaling more than VND 1.9 billion. The program helped improve the quality of workers’ meals, enhance health, and strengthen bonds among workers, enterprises, and the Trade Union.
The “Trade Union Shelter” program was effectively implemented, with 131 houses built or repaired for union members facing housing difficulties-exceeding the registered target. Total support funding reached VND 7.61 billion, helping many union members stabilize their lives and work with peace of mind.
Workers’ Month 2025 was organized in a vibrant and creative manner, with 2,409 grassroots trade unions participating, reaching over 162% of the target.
Many new models were introduced, such as “Five No’s Workers,” the game show “After Work Hours,” and the forum “Workers for Enterprises, Enterprises for Workers,” contributing to improved spiritual life and enhanced dialogue in workplaces.
The Dong Thap Trade Union strengthened the application of digital technology in communication and member engagement; implemented the “Digital Literacy for the People” movement to popularize basic digital skills for workers-improving access to information, promoting lifelong learning, and guiding safe and healthy use of social networks.
Numerous creative models continued to be implemented and replicated, including “Happy Bus Trips,” “Trade Union Non-Profit Supermarkets,” “Ho Chi Minh Cultural Spaces,” “Self-Managed Boarding Houses,” and support models for female workers-creating a distinctive hallmark of the Dong Thap Trade Union in caring for union members.
Patriotic emulation movements were widely carried out, with 50 provincial-level projects and initiatives completed ahead of schedule. Innovations and technical improvements helped save and generate benefits of more than VND 20 billion, contributing to higher labor productivity and production efficiency.
The Trade Union actively supervised the implementation of labor laws and social insurance policies, and participated in giving feedback on documents for Party congresses at all levels. Through emulation movements, more than 1,000 outstanding union members were introduced to the Party, contributing to the strengthening of Party organizations.
