Artistic hot-air balloon display and Lotus Ao dai parade open Dong Thap Lotus Festival

(DTO) As part of the 3rd Dong Thap Lotus Festival 2026, the Cao Lanh Ward People’s Committee launched an artistic hot-air balloon showcase and a Lotus Ao dai parade at Van Mieu Square on the morning of June 19, 2026.

The event features 34 intricately designed and vividly colored hot-air balloons, together with four paramotors soaring across the skies of Cao Lanh. These elements symbolize regional aspirations for development and a bold spirit of innovation and breakthroughs, delivering a powerful message of bridging traditional cultural values with growth ambitions in the new era.

The Lotus Ao dai parade serves as a meaningful highlight, adding a fresh, vibrant, and captivating flair for residents and visitors. The sight of colorful hot-air balloons in the sky, combined with the elegance of Vietnam’s traditional Ao dai and the pure beauty of the lotus flower, forges a unique cultural and artistic space that blends modern creativity with deep national identity.

The program also features a grand performance by the Children’s Brass Band – Marching Band and the graceful steps of more than 2,000 delegates dressed in Lotus Ao dai. Together, they paint a vibrant festival tapestry rich in cultural identity, leaving a lasting impression on visitors from near and far.
 

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Bui Quoc Nam, Chairman of the Cao Lanh Ward People’s Committee, shared: “Through these activities, we hope every resident of Cao Lanh will act as a cultural and tourism ambassador. We want every street and every home in Cao Lanh to be a friendly destination, and every smile and glance to serve as a heartfelt welcome to friends from all directions. 

“The success of the festival is measured not only by the number of activities organized or visitors attracted, but also by the positive emotions it sparks, the memorable experiences it leaves behind, and the spread of affection for the peaceful and hospitable land of Cao Lanh,” the Chairman added.
