Aspiration for 2026

(DTO) The year 2025 has officially concluded with many extraordinary historical milestones. It was a year in which the country witnessed a transformative period, marked by fundamental changes in the state apparatus's operational mechanism towards a lean, efficient, and effective system. 

It was a year dedicated to summarizing the achievements following the conclusion of the 2020-2025 term across all levels and sectors. Above all, it was a time to evaluate the results of 40 years of implementing the nation's "Doi Moi" (Renovation) policy...

Together with the rest of the country, the newly formed Dong Thap has also left its own distinctive marks. These achievements stem from the tireless efforts of the former Tien Giang and Dong Thap provinces, now unified as Dong Thap Province.

In reality, despite facing common difficulties, challenges, and various internal issues, Dong Thap concluded 2025 with many impressive accomplishments. 

Viewed as a whole, most of the socio-economic targets the province set for 2025 were achieved or surpassed, with notable results in economic restructuring, per capita income, state budget revenue, job creation, total social investment capital, and export turnover.

These outcomes demonstrate that, in the face of any adversity, Dong Thap has always been able to make full use of its potential and advantages, mobilize internal strengths, and continually strive to rise to its role as a gateway of the region.

As 2025 draws to a close, it opens a new chapter for a new Dong Thap, with new hopes and expectations.

The year 2026 holds special significance as the pivotal starting point of a new development phase, inheriting the achievements and experience of previous years while beginning the implementation of the resolutions of the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term, as well as the province’s five-year socio-economic development plan (2026-2030).

Amid a global and domestic context marked by intertwined opportunities, difficulties, and challenges, Dong Thap is required to proactively seize the moment, enhance its adaptability, and manage flexibly to build a solid foundation for the new development stage.

Many believe that within this broader development space, Dong Thap will continue advancing, moving forward with the nation into a new era of growth.

Reality demands and expects a more renewed Dong Thap. Therefore, despite forecasts of numerous difficulties and challenges, the province remains steadfast in its core goals of strengthening leadership and governance capacity, and the effectiveness of the state apparatus; promoting great national unity; and awakening the aspiration for development and the spirit of self-reliance among the people.

In its new journey, Dong Thap will prioritize fostering rapid and sustainable economic growth based on science, technology, innovation, digital transformation, the green economy, and the circular economy. The province will also give precedence to developing modern industry, high-quality services, and ecological agriculture linked to global value chains.

At the same time, Dong Thap will focus on comprehensive infrastructure development, expanding regional connectivity, and deepening international integration in tandem with advancing cultural and social progress, improving human resources, and enhancing the quality of life for its people.

A renewed Dong Thap is striving to move forward with the country and become a better place to live in the future.
