(DTO) Every March, Youth Month takes place with many practical and meaningful activities. In 2026, young people in Dong Thap Province continue to promote their pioneering and volunteer spirit by actively participating in numerous community projects and initiatives.

These practical activities not only help transform both urban and rural landscapes but also contribute positively to improving the material and spiritual lives of local residents.

VIBRANT YOUTH PROJECTS AND INITIATIVES

The launch ceremony for Youth Month 2026, combined with the Tree-Planting Festival in memory of Ho Chi Minh, was recently held in Truong Xuan Commune, Dong Thap Province, attracting about 700 Youth Union officials, members and young people.

A highlight of the first day of activities was that immediately after the ceremony, a large number of volunteers enthusiastically planted trees along rural roads in Truong Xuan Commune.

On the rural road in Hamlet 5B, Youth Union members worked together to plant trees, helping create a green, clean and beautiful landscape and gradually improve the appearance of the locality.

Despite the scorching heat of early March and sweat-soaked clothes, the young volunteers worked tirelessly with a strong spirit of service to the community.

They dug holes, planted saplings, firmed the soil and watered the trees. In a short time, dozens of bougainvillea and mahogany trees were planted in neat rows, giving the Hamlet 5B road a greener and more orderly look.

At the launch ceremony, the Provincial Youth Union and sponsors presented funding for various projects, initiatives, and social security activities across the province, with a total budget of nearly 10 billion VND.

Key highlights include 2 billion VND for constructing rural bridges, repairing 25 km of rural roads, donating 500 solar-powered lights, and providing 1,000 free health check-ups and medicines for the People…

Mr. Tran Thanh Toan, Secretary of the Youth Union branch in Hamlet 5B, shared that as a young person he feels responsible for contributing to his hometown.

Every Youth Month, he actively mobilizes union members to participate in volunteer projects and personally takes the lead in these activities.
I personally strive to be at the forefront of all activities. Each Youth Month brings back many memories, and I am happiest when our work leaves a positive impression on the local community

In addition to Youth Month activities organized by the commune Youth Union, the Hamlet 5B branch also organizes environmental protection activities such as clearing bushes, trimming trees obstructing visibility and collecting waste to keep the area green and clean.

Before the official launch of Youth Month 2026, the Youth Union of Truong Xuan Commune also implemented the “Lighting Rural Roads” project using solar-powered lamps in Hamlet 4.

The project stretches 2 kilometers and includes 70 solar-powered light poles, with a total investment of VND 200 million. Of this amount, the locality contributed labor and lamp poles, while sponsors supported VND 150 million.

Once completed and put into use, the project not only helps ensure public security and traffic safety but also facilitates travel and trade for residents, thereby supporting local socio-economic development.

Mr. Luong Van Ut, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Truong Xuan Communal Party Committee, stated: "The locality is grateful to the Provincial Youth Union Standing Board and sponsors for implementing the solar lighting project in Hamlet 4.

This helps residents travel and trade goods conveniently at night, contributing to the prevention of crime and social evils.

We will mobilize the people to join hands with the authorities to maintain the project for long-term effectiveness."

Alongside volunteer activities, leaders of the provincial Youth Union and young volunteers from Truong Xuan Commune also visited and presented gifts to policy beneficiary families, expressing the younger generation’s deep gratitude to previous generations who sacrificed for national independence and freedom.

They also visited and encouraged young men preparing to enlist in the military, presenting them with gifts to motivate them as they fulfill their sacred duty to the nation.

The spirit of compassion among Dong Thap youth was especially evident at the Youth Month launch ceremony. During the event, the provincial Youth Union presented 50 gifts to veterans who directly participated in the resistance war against the United States, 100 gifts to disadvantaged residents, and 20 scholarships to students in difficult circumstances who strive for academic success.

MANY MEANINGFUL IMPRINTS

With a series of projects and initiatives implemented on the very first day of the campaign in Truong Xuan Commune, the pioneering and volunteer spirit of the provincial youth continues to be clearly affirmed.

These practical activities not only contribute to building new-style rural areas and ensuring social security but also spread a positive image of Youth Union members among the People.

The completed projects have left many positive impressions, further strengthening public trust and consensus regarding the role of the Youth Union in local development.

Mr. Le Van Be, a resident of Hamlet 4 in Truong Xuan Commune, shared: “Over the past few days, the solar-powered rural lighting project has been put into operation, making the road in front of my house much brighter at night. Travel within the hamlet has become more convenient and safer. I am very happy and grateful to the local authorities, sponsors and young volunteers who carried out this meaningful project.”

Meanwhile, Ms. Do Thi Bich Lieu, a disadvantaged resident of Hamlet 5B in Truong Xuan Commune who received a gift at the Youth Month 2026 launch ceremony, said: “I am already elderly and unable to do heavy work, so life still depends largely on my children and remains difficult. Receiving this gift today makes me very happy and deeply touched.”

Leaders of the provincial Youth Union, local authorities and sponsors cut the ribbon to inaugurate the solar-powered rural lighting project in Hamlet 4, Truong Xuan Commune.

Youth Month 2026 takes place from March 1 to March 31, during which Youth Union members and young people across Dong Thap Province will focus on implementing 12 key targets and seven major activity groups.

Youth organizations at all levels are expected to organize more than 700 volunteer activities, including three peak days and four thematic weeks under themes such as “Youth with digital capacity,” “Youth innovation and entrepreneurship,” “Volunteering for border areas,” and activities marking the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

According to Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Youth Union, Le Hoang Quyet, Youth Month has over the years created a positive image of Dong Thap youth as proactive, creative and willing to take on new and challenging tasks in implementing the locality’s political missions.

He emphasized that Youth Month activities help unite and mobilize young people, affirm their role and position in society, and provide an environment for them to practice, contribute and mature.

Efforts will also focus on promoting comprehensive digital transformation in Youth Union activities, encouraging young people to take the lead in digital transformation and support communities in adopting digital technologies.
Youth organizations will proactively advise Party committees and local authorities while coordinating with agencies and social forces to mobilize resources for Youth Month activities.
