Cultural event brings image of Viet Nam closer to the Philippines
DTO/NDO- The Embassy of Viet Nam in the Philippines held the opening of a cultural event themed “Colours of Viet Nam” on March 25, contributing to strengthening people-to-people exchanges and promoting mutual understanding between Viet Nam and the Philippines as the two countries celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (1976–2026).
The event “Colours of Viet Nam” showcased works by photographers from the Ho Chi Minh City Photographic Association.

At the event, in addition to exhibited works portraying distinctive features and traditional cultural values of Viet Nam, there were also works reflecting the country’s modern urban landscape and economic development process. In addition, the authors introduced to guests a collection of heritage ao dai (Vietnamese traditional long dress) from the northern, central and southern regions currently displayed at the Ho Chi Minh City Museum, along with Vietnamese specialties such as coffee, nem (spring rolls), green bean cakes, and banh bot loc (tapioca dumplings).
Guests attending the event expressed admiration for the harmonious blend of modernity and national identity in Viet Nam, noting that the country is currently one of the popular destinations for people of the Philippines. Many guests also shared their intention to visit Viet Nam in the near future and expressed a desire for more similar events to further explore Vietnamese culture, life and people.
The event “Colours of Viet Nam” contributed to strengthening people-to-people exchanges and enhancing mutual understanding between Viet Nam and the Philippines as the two countries commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations, demonstrating efforts in cultural and tourism cooperation in the context of ASEAN’s growing focus on community connectivity and cultural identity.
Moreover, the event provided an opportunity for representatives from various countries to meet, exchange views and strengthen ties, thereby reinforcing the foundation of friendship, enhancing trust and opening up new opportunities for cooperation in the coming period.
