(DTO) On the morning of March 26, Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial People’s Committee Pham Thanh Ngai chaired a meeting to review and resolve difficulties faced by businesses in obtaining certificates for retail fuel stations operating within the province.

The meeting was attended by Vice Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Dieu and representatives from relevant departments and agencies.

Chairman Pham Thanh Ngai chairs the meeting.

After hearing the report from the Department of Industry and Trade on current conditions and challenges in the petroleum retail sector, Chairman Pham Thanh Ngai emphasized the province’s commitment to supporting businesses and preventing administrative shortcomings from disrupting the supply of essential energy for daily life and production.

He instructed relevant agencies to promptly issue clear guidance to help residents and businesses comply with regulations, and to set out phased plans to assist station owners in completing procedures related to land-use conversion and other required documents.

He noted that while legal compliance is essential, solutions must remain flexible and considerate, easing burdens for the public based on actual conditions.

The chairman also underscored the need to prioritize traffic safety. Fuel stations must review their design standards, ensuring proper setback distances from roadways and adequate site area as required by current regulations, to guarantee absolute safety for customers entering and exiting the premises.
