Dong Thap: "Books - Knowledge - National Development Aspirations" Painting Competition
(DTO) A painting contest themed “Books – Knowledge – Aspiration for national development” was held on April 18 by the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to mark the 5th Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2026.
The event took place at the provincial Relic Site – Museum – Library Management Board, located at 05 Pham Huu Lau Street, Cao Lanh ward.

The contest attracted 181 pupils from Grades 3, 4 and 5 from schools across the province.
Within 120 minutes, contestants created A3-sized paintings on themes such as reading activities, library engagement, messages promoting reading culture in the community, and the beauty of the homeland, country and people of Dong Thap.
At the end of the contest, the organising committee awarded three first prizes, 15 second prizes, 27 third prizes and 45 consolation prizes.

The event aimed to encourage reading habits within the community, while providing students with an opportunity to showcase their talents, creativity and aesthetic appreciation inspired by books. It also contributed to shaping character and fostering a lifelong reading culture, while honouring the value of books and reaffirming the important role of learning in society.
