Dong Thap: Busy Preparing for the 162nd Commemoration of National Hero Truong Dinh’s Sacrifice

(DTO) During these historic days of August, as people look toward the anniversary of National Hero Truong Dinh’s death, residents of Dong Thap in particular and the southern region in general pay tribute to the patriotic general who remained wholeheartedly devoted to the nation and its people.
At the Tomb of National Hero Truong Dinh in Go Cong Ward and the Temple of National Hero Truong Dinh in Gia Thuan Commune, preparations are underway for the 162nd commemoration of the National Hero Truong Dinh’s death (August 20, 1864 - August 20, 2026). From tidying up the grounds and carefully attending to every detail to preparing commemorative activities held annually on August 19 and 20, everything is being carried out thoroughly and solemnly.

The Tomb of National Hero Truong Dinh in Go Cong Ward is being refurbished and carefully maintained, ready to welcome people coming to pay their respects. The worship area at the Tomb of National Hero Truong Dinh is solemnly decorated in preparation for the commemorative activities. People from several provinces and cities gather to make banh tet and prepare traditional dishes as offerings to National Hero Truong Dinh. National flags and banners fly along the roads leading to the Tomb and Temple of National Hero Truong Dinh, reflecting the people’s pride in and reverence for the national hero. The Temple of National Hero Truong Dinh in Gia Thuan Commune is solemnly decorated in preparation for the commemorative activities. Visitors pay their respects and learn about the life and contributions of National Hero Truong Dinh at the Memorial House in the Temple complex in Gia Thuan Commune. Preparations are being urgently completed for the 162nd commemoration of National Hero Truong Dinh’s death.
