(DTO) On October 22, at the Provincial Convention Center, the Dong Thap Department of Industry and Trade, in coordination with the Association of Vietnam Retailers and the Club of Tropical Agriculture Business, held a conference on connecting the production and sales of agricultural products and processed foods with export businesses and modern retail networks.

According to the Dong Thap Department of Agriculture and Environment, the added value of the agriculture and environment sector was estimated at 62.859 trillion VND in the first nine months of 2026, up 4.6% year on year.
The province planted more than 579,000 hectares of rice, with output exceeding 3.32 million tons. Fruit cultivation covered more than 135,000 hectares, with nearly 1.88 million tons harvested, up approximately 5% year on year.

Aquaculture and fisheries production totaled more than 815,000 tons, up 9.21%. In addition to its abundant supply of raw materials, Dong Thap has 417 agricultural cooperatives and 889 OCOP products, offering strong potential for developing supply chains linking agricultural production, processing and consumption.

At the conference, distributors, purchasing companies and exporters met directly with producers, cooperatives and government agencies. Participants exchanged information on market demand, product quality requirements, standards and opportunities for cooperation in production and sales.

Businesses display and introduce their products to delegates and partners at the conference.

As part of the conference, retail chains, export businesses, and local enterprises and cooperatives signed memorandums of understanding (MOUs), laying the groundwork for stronger links across production, distribution and sales.
