Dong Thap Contestant Claims Silver Medal at National Piano Talent Festival 2026

(DTO) Surpassing over 2,000 contestants across the country, Nguyen Bao Ky Phong, a 9th-grade student at Le Ngoc Han Secondary School (My Tho Ward, Dong Thap), delivered an outstanding performance to clinch the Silver Medal at the 2026 National Piano Talent Festival.

On the evening of April 5, the finals, gala performance, and awards ceremony of the 2026 National Piano Talent Festival took place at the Grand Concert Hall of the Vietnam National Academy of Music in Hanoi, in a dignified and emotionally charged atmosphere. The festival is a prestigious national-level arts platform organized by the Institute for the Development of Vietnamese Education and Culture, with professional support from the Department of Performing Arts under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

This year’s competition drew more than 2,000 contestants aged 5 to 25, divided into 15 divisions and 3 categories: Open, Classic, and Artist. After online preliminaries and regional rounds, around 800 outstanding contestants advanced to the national finals.

Among the standout finalists, Nguyen Bao Ky Phong made a strong impression with an expressive performance marked by solid technique, confidence, and refined musical sensitivity. After three stages, online, regional, and national finals, he secured the Silver Medal.

The National Piano Talent Festival not only discovers and honors young talents but also fosters a love for classical music among students and young people across the country.
