Dong Thap Continues to Realize Its Aspiration for Rapid and Sustainable Development

(DTO) - Party resolutions only demonstrate their true efficacy when translated into concrete action that delivers tangible benefits to the people and drives social progress. Guided by this principle, the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee  has been resolutely renovating its leadership approach while promoting the exemplary role of officials and Party members to bring these resolutions into everyday practice.

The province’s breakthrough socio-economic performance in the first six months of 2026 stands as compelling evidence of its correct thinking and high political resolve on the journey into a new era.

RENEWING MINDSETS FROM THE GRASSROOTS

Following the successful Party Congresses at all levels, the Standing Committee of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee identified the study, dissemination, and implementation of the resolutions as its foremost political priority.

To date, 100% of subordinate Party organizations have completed the dissemination and developed action programs tailored to the specific conditions and practical realities of each locality and unit.

Currently, implementation documents have been streamlined into concise, succinct targets that clearly define individuals, tasks, responsibilities, and completion deadlines. Notably, inspection and supervision from the provincial level down to the grassroots have been tightened to substantively assess implementation outcomes.

Members of the Standing Committees and Executive Committees of commune and ward Party organizations now directly attend regular Party cell meetings to provide guidance, grasp local sentiment, and promptly resolve difficulties on the spot. This approach ensures that Party resolutions do not remain merely on paper but truly become an operational lodestar for the entire political system.

This spirit of innovation has already been vividly recorded in Binh Ninh Commune. Shortly after the Commune Party Committee disseminated the resolution and issued its action program, the momentum quickly spread to every subordinate Party cell and local resident.

Secretary of the Binh Ninh Commune Party Committee, Tran Hoang Nhut Nam, affirmed that the commune is determined to prevent resolutions from becoming mere formalities. "The Commune Party Committee has proactively assigned members of the Standing Committee and the Commune Party Executive Committee to directly attend monthly Party cell meetings in hamlets to remind, closely monitor, and urge the execution of specific tasks," he stated.

This renewed approach is also clearly reflected in the insights of Mr. Vu Thanh Loan, former Secretary of the Party Cell of Quarter 17 (Dao Thanh Ward): "Using digital technology to develop concise action programs has enabled neighborhood groups, association chapters, and local residents to absorb information very quickly. Once the people thoroughly understand the policies, reach a consensus, and place their trust in the Party's guidelines, every political, economic, and social task at the grassroots level will inevitably yield success."

MOBILIZING PUBLIC SUPPORT THROUGH EXEMPLARY LEADERSHIP

Practice has shown that public consensus is the "key" to putting Party policies into practice, and that key can only be secured when officials and Party members genuinely leverage their pioneering and exemplary roles.

In Phu Hoa Quarter (Cai Lay Ward), mobilizing residents to donate land and contribute funds for rural road expansion was once a thorny dilemma.

That bottleneck, however, was quickly resolved when the local Party cell collective and its members proactively took the lead by making financial contributions first, while directly contributing their own labor alongside the residents.

Witnessing the exemplary leadership and active participation of their leaders, residents shifted from initial hesitation and skepticism to proactive support.

The completion of the spacious, clean concrete road has not only facilitated trade and enhanced local living conditions but, more importantly, solidified public trust in the Party organization.

Mr. Nguyen Van Manh, a resident of Phu Hoa Quarter, excitedly shared: "In the past, roads became muddy every rainy season, making it very difficult for schoolchildren to travel. 

When the Party cell proposed upgrading the road under the motto “State and people work together”, we were initially concerned about the high cost. But after seeing Party members contribute not only more financial resources but also step up to contribute workdays, we gained absolute confidence and unanimously followed suit."

Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Phu Hoa Quarter Party Cell, summarized the lesson learned: "Only when officials and Party members truly lead by example and match words with deeds do their words carry weight, inspiring people to believe and follow. This embodies the spirit of 'Party members pioneer, the public follows suit."

Dong Thap Province now determines that the solid foundation to maintain public trust is to strictly conduct direct contact and dialogue with the people, listening to and decisively resolving all petitions right at the grassroots level.

SHIFTING MINDSETS TO “ACCELERATION AND BREAKTHROUGH”

Despite admirable results, leaders of Dong Thap Province frankly acknowledge that the road ahead remains fraught with challenges. 
To transform opportunities from strategic infrastructure, digital transformation, deep-processing industries, and high-tech agriculture into long-term growth drivers, the decisive factor ultimately rests on the proactive mindset of the contingent of officials.

At the 4th Conference of the Provincial Party Executive Committee reviewing the implementation of political tasks in the first six months, Mr. Ngo Chi Cuong, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, pointed out breakthrough strategic directions.

He emphasized that the entire political system must closely adhere to economic growth scenarios, steer flexibly, and select the precise "bottlenecks" for decisive resolution. 

Public investment must be regarded as the top political priority; capital must be resolutely reallocated from lagging projects to those with strong disbursement rates. Heads of party committees and local governments must exert direct leadership, closely oversee each project, and promptly clear arising obstacles. 

Alongside domestic economic growth, the province must efficiently and sustainably exploit its marine-based economic potential, vigorously developing aquaculture, seafood processing, logistics services, and renewable energy, while aligning economic development with the solid reinforcement of national defense and security.

Concurrently, administrative reform must be thoroughly intensified, minimizing intermediate procedures, and processing documents in the digital environment under the clear principle: “One task, one lead agency, one accountable individual”; while resolutely eradicating the mindset of passing the buck, shirking responsibility, or causing inconveniences for citizens and businesses.

The entire political system must shift immediately from a "pace-keeping" mindset to an "acceleration and breakthrough" mindset. 
Dong Thap has passed the foundation-building phase and is now consolidating its robust growth drivers; therefore, there is no reason to slow down. 

Each sector, level, and locality must proactively take action, without waiting or relying on others. The will of leaders, the fortitude and responsibility of each member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, alongside every official and party member, will serve as the driving force to shatter all barriers and clear bottlenecks.

The achievements in the first six months of 2026 stand as compelling evidence of the correct  path of Dong Thap – the Land of Pink Lotuses.

This forms the prerequisite and solid launchpad for the Provincial Party Committee, government, and people of Dong Thap to continue to realize the aspiration for rapid and sustainable development, steadfastly advance into the new era and make worthy contributions to the country's shared prosperity.
