Dong Thap: Empowering Enterprises to Elevate Quality Standards
(DTO) Against the backdrop of fierce market competition and increasingly stringent quality requirements, many enterprises across the province have proactively revamped operations to enhance productivity and product quality—a strategic imperative to secure a firm foothold in the market.
WHEN ENTERPRISES PROACTIVELY "UPGRADE" THEIR OPERATIONS
In recent times, corporate development across the province has continued to log positive results. Not only growing in numbers, many enterprises have self-upgraded by focusing heavily on boosting efficiency and quality.

This strategic shift has enabled enterprises to bolster their resilience amid increasingly fierce competition.
The production model at Hoang Gia Huy Trading and Livestock Co., Ltd. (Luong Hoa Lac Commune) stands out as a prime example of aggressive investment in capacity and quality.
In recent years, the livestock sector has faced numerous headwinds due to price volatility, complex disease outbreaks, and soaring consumer demands for quality.
Confronted with this reality, Hoang Gia Huy pivoted to a closed-loop production chain for egg-laying black-bone chickens, enforcing strict control from farm to fork.
The unit has proactively secured its own breeding stocks while partnering with reputable domestic and foreign suppliers for feed, vaccines, and veterinary medicines. Throughout the farming process, the enterprise strictly applies biosecurity regulations, investing in state-of-the-art facilities that guarantee environmental hygiene.
Notably, the company prioritizes feed that is free from antibiotics and banned substances, while incorporating probiotics to minimize reliance on antibiotics for disease prevention and treatment. Currently, the enterprise's main farm raises around 70,000 egg-laying black-bone chickens.
Mr. Nguyen Myxso VinaSEC, Deputy Director of Hoang Gia Huy, stated that thanks to safe production processes and rigorous quality control, Hoang Gia Huy's black-bone chicken egg products were recognized with a 3-star OCOP certification in 2023.
Additionally, the enterprise has established a food safety management system compliant with ISO 22000:2018 standards to ensure seamless, end-to-end control across the supply chain.
Hoang Gia Huy black-bone chicken eggs have penetrated numerous major supermarket chains in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, and are distributed through a network of retail agents nationwide.
Remarkably, the enterprise has also forged a production alliance with approximately 50 closed-loop chicken farms, bringing the total herd scale to around 300,000 birds. The company commits to a 100% buy-back guarantee at market prices, even during difficult market periods or supply gluts.
The efficiency of closed-loop production models extends beyond livestock. Many seafood processing enterprises in Dong Thap are adopting similar strategies to add value and sharpen their competitive edge globally.
Go Dang Joint Stock Company (Trung An Ward) is a leading player in Dong Thap’s pangasius farming, processing, and exporting sector. Currently, the enterprise's farming area spans about 400 hectares, yielding around 100,000 tons per year.
The company operates eight factories, including four directly engaged in seafood processing. Mr. Nguyen Huu Nghia, Deputy General Director of Go Dang Joint Stock Company, shared that to cut costs and boost competitiveness, the enterprise pioneered a closed-loop production and business chain.
“Every stage capable of generating added value has been intensively optimized by the enterprise,” Mr. Nghia noted. “To improve product quality to meet export demands, every enterprise must continuously implement solutions. This is a non-negotiable customer requirement. Therefore, enterprises must constantly innovate to stay ahead of market demands.”
“When we secure our own raw materials, the enterprise can guarantee uninterrupted production and maintain strict quality control. Over the past years, the company has focused heavily on modernizing technology and machinery."
“We have progressively replaced low-productivity, power-hungry freezing equipment with cutting-edge hardware to maximize capacity and optimize energy efficiency,” Mr. Nghia added.
STANDING SHOULDER-TO-SHOULDER WITH LOCAL BUSINESSES
Reality has shown that proactively deploying solutions to boost productivity and product quality yields substantial dividends for enterprises across the province.

Therefore, enterprises must execute these measures regularly to retain market share and secure business partnerships. Naturally, this transformational process heavily requires the backing and partnership of competent authorities.
According to Ms. Vo Phuong Thuy, Director of the Dong Thap Provincial Department of Industry and Trade, the Department will accelerate industrial restructuring toward elevating productivity, expanding deep processing capabilities, and maximizing product value. Concurrently, the department will support enterprises in technological innovation and the development of green production models, smart factories, and circular economy practices.
Along with that, the sector will focus on cultivating high-quality human resources while strengthening linkages among enterprises, academia, research institutes, and raw material areas to sharpen local corporate competitiveness.
Notably, the Provincial People's Committee recently issued a comprehensive plan to enhance product and goods quality in Dong Thap Province for the 2026–2030 period, introducing a suite of specific solutions.
During the 2026 - 2030 period, the province aims to drive labor efficiency alongside the quality of local products. Simultaneously, it will spur technological integration, digital transformation, and innovation in both manufacturing and management.
A primary objective is to elevate corporate competitiveness, enabling local products to seamlessly integrate into global supply chains and expand exports to potential international markets.
To realize these ambitions, Dong Thap is focusing on the synchronized execution of solutions. Accordingly, the province will craft and effectively implement mechanisms and policies to support enterprises in improving productivity and quality.
In parallel, the locality will ramp up communication campaigns, training, and coaching, while scaling up advanced operational models.
Key initiatives include supporting enterprises in applying standards, technical regulations, management systems, and modern productivity tools, alongside enabling resources for smart manufacturing and services. Concurrently, the province will refine Dong Thap's product and goods traceability information system.
Against the backdrop of increasingly stringent global standards on quality and traceability, proactive operational upgrades, robust linkage chains, and optimized productivity are no longer optional—they are the definitive path to sustainable development.
