Dong Thap Establishes Three Specialized Project Management Boards
(DTO) – On the afternoon of June 15, Standing Vice Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee Tran Van Dung chaired a conference to implement decisions on reorganizing the Project Management Boards (PMBs) under the provincial People's Committee.

At the meeting, leaders of the Department of Home Affairs announced the decisions on the restructuring of PMBs under the Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee.

Accordingly, the provincial People's Committee decided to restructure eight existing boards—comprising the Dong Thap Provincial PMB; the Provincial Civil and Industrial Construction Investment PMB; the Provincial Transport Construction Investment PMB; the Provincial Agriculture and Rural Development Construction Investment PMB; and the Regional 1, 2, 3, and 4 Construction Investment PMBs—into three specialized PMBs under the Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee.
Specifically, the Dong Thap Provincial Civil and Industrial Construction Investment PMB was established on the basis of the Provincial Civil and Industrial Construction Investment PMB and the merger of the civil and industrial construction portfolio of the Dong Thap Provincial PMB. The Regional Construction Investment PMBs 1 and 2 were transferred intact as public non-business units under this newly structured board and renamed Construction Investment PMB No. 1 and Construction Investment PMB No. 2, respectively.

The Dong Thap Provincial Transport Construction Investment PMB was established by retaining the status quo of the Provincial Transport Construction Investment PMB and incorporating the transport construction portfolio of the Dong Thap Provincial PMB. The Regional Construction Investment PMBs 3 and 4 were transferred intact as public non-business units under this newly structured board and renamed Construction Investment PMB No. 3 and Construction Investment PMB No. 4, respectively.

The Dong Thap Provincial Agriculture and Rural Development Construction Investment PMB was established by retaining the status quo of the Provincial Agriculture and Rural Development Construction Investment PMB and merging into it the agricultural and rural development construction portfolio of the Dong Thap Provincial PMB.

Speaking at the conference, Standing Vice Chairman Tran Van Dung stated that the reorganization of the PMBs under the Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee was executed in accordance with Official Dispatch No. 59-CV/BCĐ dated September 12, 2025, from the Central Steering Committee for the Review of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW regarding the reorganization of public non-business units, state-owned enterprises, and internal focal points within agencies and organizations of the political system, and Resolution No. 105/NQ-CP dated April 8, 2026, from the Government on issuing the Government's Action Program to implement Conclusion No. 210-KL/TW dated November 12, 2025, from the 13th Party Central Committee on continuing to build and streamline the organizational apparatus of the political system in the coming period.
According to Mr. Tran Van Dung, the PMBs have effectively fulfilled their assigned tasks over the past years and contributed significantly to the province’s public investment activities. He emphasized that consolidating eight PMBs into three specialized boards is the most optimal solution for both the present and the future.
Regarding the organizational structure, functions, and duties, he requested the Department of Construction to advise the provincial People's Committee in drafting proposals for submission to the Provincial Party Standing Committee for approval. He also directed the three newly established specialized PMBs to coordinate with the Dong Thap Provincial PMB in developing operational regulations for the new entities. Concerning facilities and infrastructure, Mr. Tran Van Dung agreed in principle with the proposals put forward by the Department of Construction.
