The event is a highlight of the first Dong Thap Fruit Festival 2026, hosted at Co.opmart My Tho Supermarket in Dao Thanh Ward, Dong Thap Province.

At the event, a representative of Saigon Co.op emphasized that, with its nationwide retail network, the organization has consistently supported Vietnamese agricultural products and helped connect local specialties with consumers. Through the first Dong Thap Fruit Festival 2026, themed “Dong Thap – The Land of Sweet Fruits,” Saigon Co.op will aggressively market Dong Thap’s signature fruits and products from the Mekong Delta across its entire retail system nationwide. The program also marks a milestone in a series of activities celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Co.opmart system (1996–2026).

Saigon Co.op reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with Dong Thap Province to support crop consumption, expand market access for cooperatives, farmers, and local enterprises, thereby driving commercial value and building sustainable brands for Dong Thap’s agricultural products.

Running from June 5 to June 8, 2026, the program showcases and offers promotional deals on a wide range of specialty fruits from Dong Thap and the Mekong Delta—including mangoes, durians, longans, mandarins, rambutans, star apples, and pineapples—along with other outstanding agricultural products across Co.opmart stores.

Following the opening ceremony, delegates visit booths Showcasing Dong Thap’s specialty fruits and agricultural products at Co.opmart My Tho.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Linh, Deputy Director of the Dong Thap Department of Industry and Trade, stated that Dong Thap Fruit Week is a practical trade promotion activity aimed at introducing the province’s specialty fruits to consumers while creating opportunities for businesses, cooperatives, and orchard owners to connect with modern distribution systems and expand market access.

According to the department, Dong Thap currently boasts more than 135,000 hectares of fruit-growing area, producing over 1.3 million tons of yields annually. Many of its signature products, including Cao Lanh mangoes, Lai Vung pink mandarins, and Chau Thanh longans, have gained recognition among domestic and international consumers. In recent years, the province has focused on developing production in line with VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards, strengthening product traceability, and building sustainable value chains to improve the quality and competitiveness of local agricultural products.

The provincial Department of Industry and Trade highly appreciated Saigon Co.op’s support in promoting and distributing Dong Thap agricultural products through its modern retail network. Provincial leaders expressed hope that Dong Thap Fruit Week 2026 would help attract more consumers to the province’s specialty fruits while creating additional opportunities for businesses, cooperatives, and growers to secure stable markets, boost incomes, and promote sustainable production.
