Dong Thap Hosts 2026 All-People National Security Protection Day

(DTO) On the afternoon of August 10, Nguyen Dinh Chieu High School in My Tho Ward, Dong Thap Province, hosted the 2026 All-People National Security Protection Day. The school is one of 18 units selected by the Dong Thap Provincial People’s Committee to host a provincial-level celebration. 

The event was attended by Pham Thi Mai Tien, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Chief of the Provincial Party Committee Office, along with representatives of provincial departments and agencies, local police forces, and a large number of the school’s officials, teachers, and students. 

During the 2025-2026 school year, political security and social order and safety at the school were fully maintained, with no incidents of disorderly gatherings, property theft, or school violence. 

The school has implemented several effective models, including a self-management team for traffic safety, a youth volunteer team, a security camera system, and a hotline. It has also worked closely with the police in disseminating legal information and providing legal education. 

In addition, the school supported 100% of eligible officials, teachers, and students in installing and activating Level 2 VNeID electronic identification accounts. It also promoted effective mass mobilization and socialized education, raising more than 573 million VND to support hundreds of disadvantaged students. By the end of the school year, 99.67% of students were rated Good in conduct. 

Speaking at the event, Pham Thi Mai Tien called on Party committees, local authorities, and educational institutions to regard maintaining security and order as a regular task closely linked to socio-economic development, with clear responsibilities to ensure that no gaps are left in management. 

She called on the police to continue playing a key role, proactively monitor the situation, and work closely with the education sector and families in handling student-related incidents with a focus on prevention, humanity, and compliance with the law. 

The education sector should incorporate security and safety into daily school administration and educational activities, establish mechanisms for early detection, and strengthen the roles of homeroom teachers, psychological counseling teams, and Youth Union organizations. Particular attention should be paid to cybersecurity, equipping students with skills to protect personal data and behave appropriately in cyberspace. 

She also called on units to continue expanding models based on self-prevention, self-management, self-protection, and self-reconciliation that are suitable for schools, while promptly recognizing collectives and individuals for creative initiatives and positive actions.
