(DTT) On the morning of October 8, the Dong Thap Provincial Red Cross Society, in coordination with the Vietnam Red Cross Society, the Vietnam Soy Milk Study Promotion Fund, and Quang Ngai Sugar Joint Stock Company, held a training conference to implement the “School Soy Milk” Program for the 2026–2027 academic year.

Under the “School Soy Milk” program, 4,489 primary school students at 12 school sites across eight communes in Dong Thap Province will benefit. The communes are Hau My, Thanh Phu, Tan Phuoc 1, Tan Phuoc 2, Hung Thanh, My Tinh An, Vinh Binh, and Phu Thanh.

Overview of the training session.

Students at the 12 school sites will receive soy milk for 60 days. The program will provide more than 269,000 cartons of soy milk, worth a total of over VND1.2 billion.

At the training session, participants were instructed on procedures for receiving, handing over, storing, and distributing the milk, as well as requirements for quality control, food safety, and proper product use. Nutrition experts also shared knowledge on balanced diets and ways to care for and monitor the nutritional status of primary school students.

Organizers present scholarships to disadvantaged students who have overcome difficulties and excelled in their studies at the conference launching the “School Soy Milk” Program for the 2026–2027 academic year.

The program provides free soy milk to supplement the diets of students at primary schools in disadvantaged areas, helping improve their health and physical development. It also emphasizes food safety and ensuring that assistance reaches the right beneficiaries and localities on schedule.

On this occasion, the program awarded scholarships worth VND2 million each to eight disadvantaged students who have overcome difficulties and achieved good academic results, with one student representing each of the eight beneficiary primary schools.

The “School Soy Milk” Program not only helps supplement students’ nutrition but also seeks to raise awareness among schools, families, and communities about healthcare, balanced nutrition, and food safety, thereby helping create better conditions for students’ comprehensive development.
