Dong Thap launches free prosthetics programme for persons with disabilities

(DTO) The provincial Department of Health on April 14 issued Notice No. 2726/TB-SYT announcing the implementation of a free prosthetics programme for persons with disabilities, sponsored by Mercer On Mission (MOM) of Mercer University (the United States), aimed at improving mobility and quality of life for vulnerable groups.

The programme targets individuals with above-knee amputations, below-knee amputations, and below-elbow arm amputations. All prosthetic fitting costs will be fully covered by Mercer On Mission.

Registration is open from the date of announcement until May 15, 2026.

Applicants can register in person at:

- Dong Thap Rehabilitation Hospital: Social Work Department (1st floor, Outpatient Department), 167 Ton Duc Thang Street, Cao Lanh ward. 

- Tien Giang General Hospital: Social Work Department (10th floor), 315 National Highway 1A, Long Hung quarter, Trung An ward. 

- At localities: Residents may also register at the Culture and Social Affairs Division or commune- and ward-level health stations in their place of residence.
