Dong Thap Leaders Meet with Association of Dong Thap Natives
(DTO) On the afternoon of October 28, Ngo Chi Cuong, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council, and Nguyen Thanh Nhan, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, held a meeting with the Association of Dong Thap Natives. Senior Lieutenant General Tran Don, former Member of the Party Central Committee, former Deputy Minister of National Defense and Chairman of the Association, attended the meeting.
Over the past nine months, the Association of Dong Thap Natives has organized various activities connecting entrepreneurs, businesses and members while supporting social welfare programs. Its regional liaison groups have actively raised funds to provide scholarships, gifts for policy beneficiary families and disadvantaged households, and support the construction of charity houses, bridges and community facilities. The Association has also organized visits and working sessions with local authorities, mobilized resources for community development and supported disadvantaged students, contributing to the development of Dong Thap.

The Association also presented its plan to organize a gathering of Dong Thap natives in Ho Chi Minh City to celebrate the Lunar New Year 2027, under the theme “Love for the Hometown, the Land, and the People.” The event aims to connect people from Dong Thap living away from home, strengthen their ties with their hometown and mobilize resources for provincial development.
The Association also connected businesses interested in investing in the province, with proposed projects including the Con Chinh Sach Circular Economy Zone, Craft Village Tourist Area and Dong Thap Muoi - Go Thap Ecotourism Area.

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary Ngo Chi Cuong agreed with the plan to organize the gathering of Dong Thap natives in Ho Chi Minh City.
Regarding business proposals, he acknowledged their suggestions and said the province would review them, prioritizing feasible projects aligned with local development orientations. Planning-related issues must be carefully reviewed to ensure consistency. Where differences arise, the province will work with businesses to find suitable solutions and create favorable conditions for all parties.

Secretary Ngo Chi Cuong affirmed that Dong Thap always welcomes and supports investors wishing to contribute to local development. However, all investment activities must comply with the law. Relevant authorities will assess each project based on its nature, sector and scale to ensure compliance with approved plans and current regulations.
He emphasized that plans must be implemented decisively once agreed upon, without delays caused by hesitation or repeated reviews that yield no progress. The province will strive to promptly address matters within its authority and actively coordinate with investors to resolve difficulties and obstacles. Businesses, in turn, must demonstrate commitment, cooperate closely and fulfill their obligations.
