Dong Thap: OCOP Businesses Ramp Up Production for the Lunar New Year
(DTO) With just about a month to go before the Lunar New Year 2026, businesses and production facilities of OCOP-certified products across Dong Thap Province are accelerating production to ensure sufficient supply for the market.
OCOP BUSINESSES RAMP UP PROMOTION
During the peak Lunar New Year season, Yen Sao Tri Son in Dao Thanh Ward increases its production capacity by 50-100% compared to normal days, depending on the product line.

Key products such as refined bird’s nest, ready-to-drink bird’s nest, and freeze-dried items, including bird’s nest flan, bird’s nest yogurt, freeze-dried bird’s nest, and Lunar New Year gift sets, are prioritized to ensure timely delivery for corporate clients, distributors, and end-of-year consumer demand.
Bui Bang Son, Director of Yen Sao Tri Son, said that this Lunar New Year season, the company’s output is expected to increase by 1.5 to 2 times compared to regular production months.
The company is focusing on gift boxes featuring bird’s nest, ready-to-drink bird’s nest, and convenient freeze-dried products.

According to Bui Bang Son, Lunar New Year orders this year have increased compared to the same period last year, mainly thanks to an expanded market after the provincial merger, which has enabled the company to reach more customers and partners.
At the same time, the Yen Sao Tri Son brand is gaining broader recognition, building strong consumer trust and becoming a familiar choice for both daily use and holiday gifting.
Notably, the rising trend of choosing health-focused Lunar New Year gifts has also boosted the company’s growth momentum.
With high-quality bird’s nest products of clear origin and strictly controlled production processes, Yen Sao Tri Son effectively meets the demand for Lunar New Year gifts that are not only premium but also practical and rich in nutritional value.
Currently, the company’s primary markets include Dong Thap, Ho Chi Minh City, and southern provinces.
In addition to the domestic market, products such as ready-to-drink bird’s nest and refined bird’s nest have also recorded positive growth in official export channels, especially to Cambodia and China, highlighting increasing opportunities for expanding international markets.
“During peak Lunar New Year production, the company also faces certain pressures, particularly regarding labor and raw materials as orders surge within a short period, while year-end material prices tend to rise. In response, we have implemented many solutions, including working overtime, allocating manpower appropriately for each production stage, planning raw materials purchasing early, optimizing production processes, increasing equipment capacity, and strengthening quality control at every step to ensure both progress and product quality,” Bui Bang Son shared.

The company expects positive revenue growth this holiday season compared to last year, further solidifying its position in the premium Lunar New Year gift segment.
At the same time, this period is considered an important foundation for Yen Sao Tri Son to expand its markets in the coming year, both domestically and internationally, toward sustainable and long-term development.
Co Tuyet Fresh Sausage in Cai Lay Ward, which produces 3-star OCOP-certified fresh sausages, is also entering its peak production period for the Lunar New Year market.

During the Lunar New Year, the facility maintains production at a capacity 5-10 times higher than usual, with an expected output of around 10 tons.
Sharing about the current order situation, Pham Hoang Nam, the owner, said that the exact number of Lunar New Year orders cannot yet be determined, as customers typically place orders closer to the holiday.
However, he expects this year’s orders to increase compared to last year, thanks to the return of regular customers and the expansion of new customer groups.
According to Pham Hoang Nam, raw material supply for production is currently stable. From now until the Lunar New Year, the business will participate fully in trade fairs organized by the Department of Industry and Trade, helping promote its products, expand distribution channels, and bring Co Tuyet Fresh Sausage closer to consumers.
HEALTH-FOCUSED LUNAR NEW YEAR GIFTS ON THE RISE
The Dong Nghi Agricultural Cooperative in Long Hung Commune currently has 14 OCOP-certified products with 4 stars.
Among them, the freeze-dried durian-flavored goat-milk yogurt was recently honored as one of the top 20 leading OCOP-certified products in Dong Thap Province, helping enhance the brand’s value and competitiveness.
Le Khac Dong Nghi, Director of the cooperative, said that to meet this year’s Lunar New Year demand, production is expected to increase by around 50% compared to normal days to supply the distributor network adequately.
Popular Lunar New Year items include freeze-dried durian and fruit-flavored freeze-dried yogurts, especially the red dragon fruit flavor, a product symbolizing luck and prosperity, often chosen for Lunar New Year gift baskets.
Currently, the cooperative’s products are mainly sold at the Dong Nghi Goat Milk Farm, major nearby tourist destinations, roadside rest stops, and several supermarkets within the province.
Besides production, the cooperative hopes the Lunar New Year season will attract large numbers of visitors to the farm, offering activities such as goat milking, recreational services (swimming pool, cycling, boating, water slide, zipline), decorated photo zones, local cuisine, and live music performances, helping increase revenue while promoting local OCOP-certified products.
The Trai Ong Xanh Bee Farm in Nhi Quy Ward, with its longan-blossom honey receiving the OCOP certification with 3 stars, has increased production capacity by about 20% this holiday season compared to normal days.
This growth is driven by the promotion of Lunar New Year gift boxes and its distribution partnership with Tri Son Company. The farm is currently preparing to deliver 100 bottles of honey to Tri Son, with production expected to continue rising in the coming period.
According to Tran Van Vong, owner of Trai Ong Xanh Bee Farm, the number of orders this year has increased compared to previous years, thanks to active participation in product exhibitions and promotional events in Hanoi, Ca Mau, and various provincial festivals after the merger.
As a result, more customers are aware of the product, repeat purchase rates have improved, and new customer groups have been added.
Despite these positive signs, the facility still faces certain difficulties in production, mainly due to limited machinery, requiring some stages to be outsourced.
In the future, the Trai Ong Xanh Bee Farm plans to invest in additional equipment to diversify packaging options, beyond glass bottles, to include convenient small packs that are easier for consumers to carry and use.
With the growing trend of health-focused Lunar New Year gifts, Tran Van Vong hopes their longan-blossom honey will continue to be well received during the holiday season, especially in the gift segment.
According to Dong Thap Provincial Department of Industry and Trade, to serve the upcoming Lunar New Year market, OCOP businesses and producers have proactively developed early production plans, ramping up capacity to ensure adequate supplies of essential goods and Lunar New Year gifts.
The department has also strengthened supply-demand connections and supported businesses in participating in fairs and trade promotion activities, contributing to the expansion of markets for OCOP-certified products.
