Dong Thap: Over 11.8 Billion VND Raised to Support Agent Orange Victims

(DTO) On the morning of January 23, the Dong Thap Provincial Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin held a conference to review its activities in 2025 and outline directions and tasks for 2026.

In 2025, while operating within the new two-tier local government and carrying out many important political tasks of the province, the Association continued to make strong efforts to effectively fulfill its key missions, particularly in communication and mobilizing resources to support victims of Agent Orange.

All levels of the Association coordinated to organize hundreds of communication campaigns and mobilized tens of thousands of gifts, housing support, and livelihood assistance for victims, with total fundraising exceeding 11.8 billion VND.

In addition, the management, care, and support for victims were carried out promptly and correctly targeted. The provincial Agent Orange/Dioxin Victim Fund was strictly and transparently managed, helping many affected families stabilize their lives and gradually improve their circumstances.

At the conference, delegates also discussed and shared both advantages and challenges, expressing their desire for stronger coordination between the Association and governmental agencies, units, political and social organizations, businesses, and benefactors to further enhance the effectiveness of caring for and supporting Agent Orange victims across the province.

For 2026, the Dong Thap Provincial Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin aims to continue strengthening its grassroots organizational structure, promote communication efforts and mobilize social resources to support victims, organize meaningful activities marking the 65th anniversary of the Agent Orange catastrophe in Vietnam, and focus on sustainable livelihood support and building “Orange Shelters” for victims facing difficult circumstances.
