(DTO) On May 5, the Dong Thap Employment Service Center held a send-off ceremony to encourage and bid farewell to 206 workers departing for seasonal employment in South Korea. This is a key departure in May aimed at improving local residents’ income and skill levels.

Nguyen Phu Hieu, Director of the Dong Thap Employment Service Center, presents gifts to encourage the workers.

In this round, 206 workers are heading to Yeoncheon County (Gyeonggi Province) and Cheorwon County (Gangwon Province). They will work under contracts of approximately eight months in the agricultural sector. This program provides a major opportunity for workers to gain exposure to modern farming techniques and international agricultural standards.

Speaking at the ceremony, Nguyen Phu Hieu, Director of the Dong Thap Employment Service Center, emphasized: “Sending workers abroad is not simply about job creation. It is a key strategy for socio-economic development. After their time working overseas, workers not only return with savings but also with valuable knowledge, industrial discipline, and professional skills.”

He added that in the coming period, the province will continue exploring to expand seasonal labor markets to countries such as Germany and Russia, creating more diverse opportunities for local residents.

To ensure workers feel secure while working abroad, Director Nguyen Phu Hieu expressed hope that local authorities will continue to support and stay closely connected with the families of the workers. He also reminded the workers to strive, comply strictly with the host country’s laws and their contract terms, and avoid violations that could affect the province’s overall reputation.

Leaders of the Dong Thap Employment Service Center and local commune and ward authorities present gifts and take photos with the departing workers.

During the ceremony, representatives from the Provincial Employment Service Center and local communes and wards presented meaningful gifts and extended their best wishes for success to the workers before their departure.
