Dong Thap: Over 4,000 participate in “Walking Together with Vietnam” 2026 program
(DTO) On the morning of August 30, under the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, a launching ceremony and a 2km walk were held at Hung Vuong Square to respond to the “Walking Together with Vietnam” 2026 program.
The event was co-organized by the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Provincial Police, and the resident office of Nhan Dan (The People) Newspaper in Dong Thap. More than 4,000 cadres, soldiers, civil servants, public employees, students, athletes, and youth union members took part.

The “Walking Together with Vietnam” program is a nationwide initiative spearheaded by Nhan Dan Newspaper and the Ministry of Public Security to commemorate the 81st anniversary of the August Revolution, Vietnam's National Day, and the 81st Traditional Day of the Vietnam People's Public Security. The program aims to rally officials, soldiers, and citizens to embrace the campaign “All People Exercise Their Bodies Following the Example of the Great Uncle Ho,” promoting physical health, enhancing quality of life, and fostering community cohesion.

At 6:00 AM, Dong Thap joined the live relay from the central hub at Hanoi's Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square and all other localities nationwide, to respond to the synchronized national flag-raising ceremony. The joint effort powerfully showcased solidarity, national pride, and the public's profound patriotism.
Following the broadcast, attendees completed a 2-km walk. Each step was recorded on a digital platform, counting toward the national target of 10 billion "green steps" to promote environmental protection, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and aim to establish a Guinness World Record.

The launching ceremony and walk invigorated the local community with a vibrant spirit of solidarity, inspiring both the public sector and citizens to maintain daily fitness habits and improve public health.
