Dong Thap Promotes Practical and Effective Digital Transformation

(DTO) As part of activities marking Innovation and Creativity Day and National Digital Transformation Day, the Dong Thap Department of Science and Technology held the 2026 Dong Thap Digital Transformation Conference on the morning of October 9, under the theme “Digital Technologies and Solutions to Promote Digital Transformation in Dong Thap.”

The conference was attended by Vice Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial People’s Committee Huynh Minh Tuan; Director of the provincial Department of Science and Technology Ngo Huynh Quang Thai; and representatives of provincial departments, agencies, localities, digital technology enterprises, and related organizations.

In his remarks marking National Digital Transformation Day (October 10) in Dong Thap in 2026, Vice Chairman Huynh Minh Tuan acknowledged and highly appreciated the proactive efforts and sense of responsibility demonstrated by the Department of Science and Technology, relevant agencies, localities, and the business community in organizing and supporting activities to mark the occasion.

At the grassroots level, local authorities have also stepped up guidance for residents on using digital utilities, cashless payments, e-commerce, digital signatures, and services on digital platforms. Community Digital Technology Teams continue to play an important role in working closely with residents and helping them access and apply technology in their daily lives.

At the conference, participants watched a video report highlighting key achievements in digital transformation in Dong Thap, along with orientations, priority tasks, and solutions for the 2026–2030 period.

Presentations focused on promoting cashless payments in association with digital transformation and innovation in the banking sector; developing digital infrastructure to support the governance and administration of the two-tier local government system; ensuring information safety and security during digital transformation; and digital solutions offered by telecommunications enterprises, as well as digitalization in the tourism sector.

Through these discussions, the conference clarified solutions for developing digital infrastructure, platforms, data, and services, while strengthening connections among local authorities, technology businesses, and residents. These efforts aim to improve governance and administrative efficiency and promote the development of the digital economy and digital society across the province.

On this occasion, the organizers launched the 2026 Dong Thap Digital Transformation Knowledge Contest. The initiative aims to broaden access to knowledge and raise awareness of digital transformation, encouraging officials, civil servants, public employees, workers, residents, and businesses to actively learn about and apply technology, thereby contributing to the development of digital citizens, a digital society, and digital culture.
