Dong Thap: Promoting the Role of Intellectuals in Agricultural Digital Transformation

(DTO) On October 9, the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations organized a workshop themed "The Role of Intellectuals in Promoting Digital Transformation in Agriculture."

The workshop saw participation from experts in the transportation sector, representatives of universities, the Department of Agriculture and Environment, alongside a large contingent of scientists and intellectuals from both inside and outside the province.

At the workshop, scientists and experts identified systemic bottlenecks concerning institutions, human resources, digital infrastructure, data, investment resources, and farmers' access to technology—subsequently proposing feasible solutions tailored to the province's practical conditions.

Sharing at the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hien from the Dong Thap Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations stated that the organization will continue to promote its role in gathering and uniting intellectuals; creating an environment for scientists to participate in advisory, critical review, transfer, and dissemination of knowledge; while connecting intellectuals with production bases, enterprises, cooperatives, and farmers. Through these efforts, research findings, initiatives, and scientific and technological advances will transition from laboratories and lecture halls to fields, factories, and markets.

Concurrently, experts focused on analyzing and assessing the current state of agricultural digital transformation in Dong Thap; examining the application of science, technology, and digital solutions in agricultural production, management, processing, consumption, and value chain development; and discussing the training, attraction, and utilization of intellectuals serving local digital transformation.

In addition, experts proposed solutions and recommended mechanisms and policies to leverage the role of intellectuals, accelerating and raising the efficiency of provincial agricultural digital transformation in the coming period.

With a spirit of scientific rigor, responsibility, and innovation, the workshop is expected to leave a significant mark in driving digital transformation across the province's agricultural sector.
