Dong Thap Provincial Tourism Association Executive Committee for 2023 - 2028 Term Debuts

(DTO) On the afternoon of June 17, the Dong Thap Provincial Tourism Association held a ceremony to launch its Executive Committee for the 2023 - 2028 term.

In its role as a tourism association, the organization has effectively served as a bridge connecting tourism businesses across Dong Thap Province. The association has consistently created favorable conditions and acted as a reliable pillar for its members.

At the same time, it has functioned as a focal point for gathering and receiving recommendations and proposals from members to convey to authorities at all levels, while supporting members in their operations. The association has also encouraged members to maximize their capabilities and foster connections for mutual development, with particular attention given to attracting enterprises truly passionate about the tourism sector.

The Executive Committee has collaborated with state tourism management agencies and local authorities throughout the province to organize and participate in numerous cultural and tourism events, as well as tourism stimulus programs in line with the policies of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the provincial People's Committee. These activities aim to attract visitors, contributing to the effective and sustainable development of local tourism.

The association has also supported and mobilized many businesses in the province to showcase their tourism products and signature OCOP products at exhibition booths at cultural and tourism events both within and outside the province, thereby introducing Dong Thap’s tourism potential to domestic and international visitors.

With a strong commitment to developing local tourism products, particularly heritage and historical tourism, the Executive Committee has developed new tours and routes linked to historical and cultural relic sites to serve students and educators in the provincial education sector.

Notably, the association has organized meetings and networking events bringing together organizations and individuals operating both inside and outside the tourism sector to exchange experiences and address difficulties facing the association in recent times. These activities also aim to strengthen connections and attract new members to the association in the future.

The Executive Committee of the Dong Thap Provincial Tourism Association for the 2023-2028 term comprises 12 members. Ms. Luong Thi Diem Trang holds the position of Chairwoman of the association.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Luong Thi Diem Trang emphasized that tourism is an important economic sector of Dong Thap. Green and sustainable tourism, together with the preservation of cultural identity and historical depth, constitute the province’s signature products.

As a bridge, the Executive Committee will strive to foster linkages and support tourism enterprises. Particular emphasis will be paid to enhancing linkages among travel agencies, tourist destinations, transport providers and accommodation establishments to create unique tourism products that bear the distinct character and heartfelt hospitality of the Dong Thap people.

Through these efforts, visitors to Dong Thap will be able to deeply experience the charm of the land and the warmth and hospitality of its people. At the same time, the province’s image will be vigorously promoted to both domestic and international tourists.

To achieve these goals, Ms. Luong Thi Diem Trang expressed her hope for the profound attention of provincial leaders, the enthusiastic support of departments, agencies, and local authorities, and particularly of tourism associations across provinces and cities nationwide and the Vietnam Tourism Association, alongside the companionship of all members.

Addressing the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Khanh, Vice President of the Vietnam Tourism Association and Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association, suggested that the Dong Thap Provincial Tourism Association perfect its organizational structure and apparatus, including its specialized committees and affiliated chapters.

She noted that the Mekong Delta, particularly Dong Thap, boasts an incredibly diverse, rich, and unique cuisine, urging the locality to further capitalize on these advantages. She also called on the association to maintain its focus on tourism product development and coordinate with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in human resource training to build a professional workforce for the sector.
