Dong Thap Ranks Third in the Emulation Cluster of Southern Provinces

(DTO) On April 25, in Dong Nai Province, the Emulation Cluster of Southern Provinces held a conference to review the implementation of the 2025 emulation agreement and to sign the 2026 emulation agreement.

Attending the event were Nguyen Anh Tuan, Deputy Head of the Central Council for Emulation and Commendation; leaders of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People’s Council, and Provincial People’s Committee; along with leaders of the People’s Committees and outstanding collectives and individuals of 2025 from the provinces in the cluster: Vinh Long, Tay Ninh, Dong Thap, An Giang, and Ca Mau. 

The delegation of Dong Thap Province was led by Tran Van Dung, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee. 

Leaders of the six provinces in the emulation cluster sign the 2026 emulation agreement. 

In 2025, the provinces in the cluster recorded an average GRDP growth rate of 8.13%. Notably, Dong Thap topped the cluster in public investment disbursement, achieving 116.8% of the target assigned by the Prime Minister. 

In addition, Dong Thap reported several impressive economic indicators: total budget revenue reached 24.242 trillion VND; export value reached 9.28 billion USD. Tourism also saw significant improvement, with 7.36 million visitors and total tourism revenue of 4.158 trillion VND.

The province further strengthened its reputation for sustainable agriculture by successfully establishing the “Dong Thap” geographical indication for its lotus products and completing its new-style rural area development tasks. 

Based on assessment, scoring, and ranking results for the Emulation Cluster of Southern Provinces in 2025, Dong Thap received a total of 925.97 points, placing third in the cluster. 

During the preliminary session, the provinces unanimously proposed awarding the Government’s Emulation Flag to Dong Nai, the leading unit with 944.14 points, and awarding a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister to Tay Ninh, which ranked second.

In his directive speech, Nguyen Anh Tuan acknowledged and praised the achievements of the emulation cluster. He emphasized that the conference had provided an accurate assessment of emulation movements and highlighted many exemplary role models across various fields. 

He also requested that in 2026, provinces continue to thoroughly grasp President Ho Chi Minh’s teachings on patriotic emulation, intensify peak emulation campaigns to celebrate major national holidays, and strengthen the discovery and replication of new models and exemplary individuals so that emulation and commendation truly become drivers of socio-economic development. 

As part of the program, Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee Chairman Nguyen Van Ut, Head of the 2025 Emulation Cluster of Southern Provinces, presented the rotating flag for Head of the 2026 Emulation Cluster of Southern Provinces to Vinh Long, with Ca Mau serving as Deputy Head. 

Following the handover ceremony, leaders of the six provinces officially signed the 2026 emulation agreement.
