Dong Thap Reviews One Year of the “Digital Literacy for All” Movement

(DTO) On the morning of July 8, the Dong Thap Department of Science and Technology held a conference to review one year of implementing the “Digital Literacy for All” movement across the province. Representatives from provincial departments and agencies attended the event.

After one year, the movement has helped improve digital awareness and skills among public officials and residents, laying the foundation for comprehensive digital transformation. 1,693 Community Digital Technology Teams have been established and strengthened province-wide, with more than 10,200 members. Meanwhile, 114 “Digital Literacy for All” volunteer teams, comprising over 6,000 Youth Union officials and members, continue to help residents access digital technology. 

The province also recorded encouraging progress in digital transformation. A total of 29 training courses were organized for more than 8,870 public officials and civil servants. 23,000 digital signatures were issued. More than 83% of members from 610 cooperatives and over 120 community clubs received training in digital skills, e-commerce, and AI applications. Over 6,600 new “.vn” domain names were registered for businesses and household enterprises. All businesses now file taxes online. More than 845,000 residents have been assisted in activating their VssID accounts. Over 91.5% of people aged 15 and above have bank accounts. The province also has more than 9 million active QR payment codes and over 714,600 downloads of the Digital Citizen app.

Delegates discussed the development of digital learning materials, the application of AI in education, expanding the “One Citizen - One Digital Identity” initiative, scaling up community-based digital skills programs, and sharing experiences in implementing the “Digital Literacy for All” movement in the coming years. 

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Director of the Dong Thap Department of Science and Technology, Tran Van Dung, emphasized that provincial departments, agencies, and local authorities should continue working closely together to strengthen digital skills training and guidance, aiming to fulfill the remaining 2026 targets and ensure the movement delivers deeper and more meaningful results. 

With strong commitment, coordinated efforts across the political system, and active participation from residents and businesses, the province expects the “Digital Literacy for All” movement to continue achieving positive results, contributing to the development of digital government, a digital economy, and a digital society while advancing Dong Thap’s digital transformation goals.
