Dong Thap Steps Up Efforts to Promote Its Image Abroad
(DTO) The Dong Thap Provincial People’s Committee has issued a plan to implement the strategy on disseminating and promoting Vietnam’s image abroad for the 2026-2030 period, with a vision to 2045, across the province.
Under the plan, Dong Thap will focus on showcasing the image of its land, people, history, culture, and development achievements, thereby enhancing the province’s recognition, position, prestige, and identity globally. These promotional activities aim to drive international cooperation, attract investment, boost tourism and trade, and accelerate socio-economic development.
The province targets fashioning an image of “Dong Thap – Affectionate, Dynamic, Creative, Rich in Cultural Identity, and Deeply Integrated,” while gradually building a data system and communication products to serve local image promotion, linked with the national communication data system. At the same time, information about Dong Thap will be amplified across the press, social media and digital platforms, in combination with external relations, tourism, trade, and investment promotion.
A key focus of the plan is to accelerate the application of digital technology, artificial intelligence, and big data in content production and distribution, while developing a multilingual digital content ecosystem on cross-border platforms. The province will also launch direct and online promotional campaigns, digitize content from events, closely monitor and analyze international public opinion, and proactively tackle misinformation affecting Dong Thap’s image.
Departments, sectors, localities, press agencies, businesses, and the Dong Thap community abroad will be encouraged to play a pivotal role in promoting the province's image. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will spearhead the development of promotional content on external information platforms, organizing tourism promotion activities, cooperating with press agencies and influencers, and producing communication products introducing the province’s culture, people, potential, and strengths.
Concurrently, trade, agriculture, education, and science and technology will be seamlessly integrated into external communication pipelines, showcasing Dong Thap’s signature products, agricultural produce, investment and tourism potential, innovation achievements, and cultural values to the global community.
The plan also calls for revamping communication content and methods, developing multilingual digital communication products, and strengthening promotion on Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, and other digital platforms. Through these efforts, Dong Thap’s image will gradually reach domestic and international audiences more effectively, creating additional momentum for cooperation, integration, and sustainable development.
