Dong Thap to host diverse activities marking Vietnam Culture Day

(DTO) The Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee has issued a plan to organize activities marking Vietnam Culture Day 2026 across the province, featuring a wide range of cultural, artistic, sports, and tourism events to honor traditional cultural values and promote the image of Dong Thap and its people.

The activities will span October and November 2026, with the peak events scheduled for November in conjunction with Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day on November 23 and Vietnam Culture Day on November 24.

Under the plan, the province will step up communications through the press, grassroots information systems, and digital platforms. An opening ceremony in response to Vietnam Culture Day will be held at Hung Vuong Square in Dao Thanh Ward, followed by a special art program scheduled for the evening of November 23 at the same venue.

The series of activities will also include a thematic photo exhibition entitled “Dong Thap Cultural Heritage”; a display of the “Flower Vase Collection”; demonstrations and hands-on experiences featuring traditional crafts such as mat weaving, traditional Southern scarf weaving, fermented pork roll making, and rice paper and puffed glutinous rice cake production; as well as book and document displays and a book introduction video contest themed “Reading Families – Connecting Hearts.”

Notably, the 2026 Dat Sen Hong - Dong Thap Marathon, scheduled for October 9-11 in Cao Lanh Ward, will incorporate activities promoting the province's heritage, scenic attractions, signature products, culinary culture, and the image of Dong Thap people.

In November, the province will organize a local culinary cultural exchange and a seminar on “Developing Sustainable Culture and Tourism.” Localities are also encouraged to organize cultural and sports exchanges, folk games, club activities, and events showcasing OCOP products, traditional craft villages, and local cuisine.

The activities will be organized in a practical and effective manner, with grassroots areas and residential communities serving as the focus and local residents as the central participants. The program aims to foster a healthy cultural life, preserve traditional identity, and further promote the image of Dong Thap to residents and visitors.
