Dong Thap, UEH Forge Strategic Development Partnership
(DTO) The Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee on June 26 signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) for the 2026–2030 period.
Attending the event were Mr. Huynh Minh Tuan, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Dr. Dinh Cong Khai, Vice President of UEH; along with representatives of provincial departments and the UEH delegation.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman Huynh Minh Tuan briefed participants on the province's socio-economic development in 2025 and the first half of 2026.
He noted that Dong Thap has designated science, technology, innovation, and high-quality human resources as the core drivers of socio-economic growth for 2026–2030. Therefore, the province seeks to leverage partnerships with strategic institutions possessing strong academic capabilities and robust policy advisory expertise, among which UEH is a vital partner.
The Vice Chairman highly appreciated UEH's proactive support over the past years, expressing confidence that the new pact would provide a solid foundation for both sides to effectively implement initiatives serving the province's socio-economic development.
At the ceremony, Dr. Dinh Cong Khai, Vice President of UEH, said the university has developed into a multidisciplinary institution offering programmes in economics, management, technology, design, and smart urban development. He added that UEH consistently prioritizes regional engagement to contribute to the development of provinces and cities nationwide.

Under the agreement, during the 2026–2030 period, the two sides will strengthen cooperation across a wide range of priority areas. UEH's experts and scientists will partner with the province in providing policy consultation and independent review, conducting research, proposing breakthrough solutions, and preparing annual reports aimed at resolving systemic bottlenecks and supporting the province's growth objectives.
The two sides will also cooperate in training and enhancing the capacity of public officials, particularly grassroots officials under the two-tier local government model; developing a skilled workforce for businesses; promoting the innovation and startup ecosystem; and supporting employment connections for students from Dong Thap.
In the fields of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation, the two sides will jointly study solutions for developing high-tech agriculture, strengthening key agricultural value chains, promoting the circular economy, and formulating the province's digital government architecture and smart urban development framework.
Concurrently, they will also expand cooperation in investment and trade promotion as well as international cooperation, contributing to elevating Dong Thap's image and attracting international resources and technical expertise to support sustainable development and climate change adaptation.
The signing ceremony is expected to usher in a new phase of substantive and effective cooperation between Dong Thap Province and UEH, contributing to upgrading human resource quality, fostering innovation, and creating new momentum for the province's socio-economic development in the new era.
