(DTO) On March 24, at the Training - Mobile Battalion in Tan Ho Co Commune, Dong Thap Province, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union, in coordination with the Secretariat of the Dong Thap Provincial Vietnam Youth Federation, held the 2026 “Border March” Program.

General view of the program

With the spirit of “Youth taking the lead and joining hands to build the border areas,” this year’s program was not only a volunteer journey but also a reaffirmation of the younger generation’s responsibility in safeguarding national sovereignty.

One of the program’s key highlights was the signing ceremony between the Dong Thap Provincial Youth Union and the Dong Thap Border Guard Command. Both sides agreed to implement the “Promoting the Pioneering Role of Youth in Protecting Territorial Sovereignty and National Border Security” Program for the 2026-2030 period.

The agreement focuses on fostering revolutionary ideals and the traditions of Uncle Ho’s Soldiers among young people, strengthening communication efforts, and effectively carrying out strategic tasks related to national construction and defense in the new context. It aims to empower youth to contribute more actively to socio-economic development, resilient political foundations, and local defense and security.

To support border residents and soldiers, the organizers mobilized and delivered over 300 million VND worth of social welfare contributions. These included a 40-million-VND tree-planting project and a 10-million-VND livelihood-support orchard, 300 free medical check-ups and medication packages for local people (150 million VND), 1,000 national flags (50 million VND), support for the “Steps to School - Adopted Children of Border Guard Stations” Program (36 million VND), the “Compassion Rice Jar” model (22 million VND), and 40 gift sets for disadvantaged children.

Immediately after the launch ceremony, a series of experiential activities and youth-led projects took place simultaneously. Youth Union members and young volunteers planted 500 trees at the Training - Mobile Battalion, contributing to the greening of border areas.

At the Dinh Ba International Border Gate, the delegation performed the flag-salute ritual at the border marker and listened to briefings on border security at marker 232 (2).
