Dong Thap Welcomes Nearly 170,000 Tourists During National Day Holiday

(DTO) According to the Dong Thap Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, during the National Day holiday from August 29 to September 2, the province welcomed nearly 170,000 tourists, up 57% compared to 2025.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, this year's five-day National Day holiday provided favorable conditions for residents and tourists to travel and relax. Local tourist attractions and hospitality establishments across the province proactively prepared facilities, improved environmental landscapes, enhanced service quality, and ensured security and safety. They also organized a variety of cultural and artistic activities, promotional events and new tourism products to serve residents and visitors.

During the five-day holiday, Dong Thap welcomed and served approximately 169,957 tourists, up 57% compared with the same period in 2025, including 13,084 international visitors, up 131% over the same period. Total tourism revenue reached VND 101.5 billion, an increase of 132% over the same period last year. Average accommodation occupancy stood at 65%-70%.

Several tourist sites and attractions recorded high visitor numbers, including Xeo Quit Historical Site with more than 6,600 visitors; Thoi Son Islet with approximately 22,450 visitors; Go Cong Countryside Market - Sencodo Farm in Gia Thuan Commune with around 17,500 visitors; and Dong Tam Snake Farm with more than 10,000 visitors.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism assessed that tourism activities during the September 2 holiday were safe and stable. Both visitor numbers and tourism revenue increased compared with the same period in 2025, showing continued positive developments in the local tourism sector and contributing to promoting the image of Dong Thap as a province of “Kindness - Dynamism - Creativity.”
