(DTO) On March 28, the Command of Coast Guard Region 3, in coordination with the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission of the Provincial Party Committee and the Departments of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Thap Province and Vinh Long Province, organized the regional final round of the “I Love My Homeland’s Seas and Islands” contest for the 2025–2026 academic year.

The program was attended by Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of the Vietnam Coast Guard; Major General Tran Van Xuan, Deputy Political Commissar of the Vietnam Coast Guard; Senior Colonel Phan Ai Xuan, Deputy Head of the Military Women's Board (General Department of Politics); and Colonel Le Van Tú, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of Coast Guard Region 3, along with representatives from local authorities, teachers, and students.

Three outstanding teams participated in the final round, representing secondary school students from coastal communes and wards of Ho Chi Minh City and the two provinces of Dong Thap and Vinh Long, all of whom were selected from the provincial-level rounds. The teams competed in four segments: Setting Sail, Braving the Waves, Reaching the Port, and Establishing Sovereignty Markers.

The contest content focused on fundamental knowledge regarding the Party's perspectives and guidelines, as well as State policies and laws concerning seas and islands. This included Vietnamese and international maritime laws, the history, geography, and legal status of Vietnam's waters, and local historical, cultural, and social traditions.

This final round featured several innovations, most notably the creation of short plays to convey meaningful messages vividly, making the competition more engaging.

At the conclusion of the contest, the Organizing Committee awarded the First Prize to the "Song Bien" (Sea Waves) team from Ho Chi Minh City. The Second Prize went to the "Song Xanh" (Blue Waves) team from Vinh Long Province, and the Third Prize was awarded to the "Sao Bien" (Starfish) team from Dong Thap Province.
