(DTT) On the evening of October 16 in Hanoi, the Vietnam Women’s Union Central Committee held the second Nguyen Thi Dinh Award ceremony for 2026. Dong Thap Province had one recipient honored at the event: Ms. Dang Thanh Nhu, a member of the Standing Committee of the Dong Thap Women’s Union and head of its Family and Social Affairs Division.

The Nguyen Thi Dinh Award is a prestigious distinction presented by the Vietnam Women’s Union Central Committee to union officials at all levels who have achieved outstanding results. The award is eligible for review and presentation twice during each tenure. At this year’s ceremony, 32 Women’s Union officials from across the country were honored, including four at the central level, 16 at the provincial level, and 12 at the grassroots level. Among the recipients were two ethnic minority officials and two delegates to the 16th National Assembly. The oldest recipient was 54 and the youngest was 40, while the official with the longest record of service in the Women’s Union had worked in the field for 30 years.
The award recipients are exemplary Women’s Union officials who have left significant footprints in rejuvenating union activities, applying digital transformation, mobilizing and supporting members and women, contributing to policymaking, caring for women and children, promoting economic development, building happy families, protecting the environment, and addressing pressing issues at the grassroots level.

With 21 years of service in the Women’s Union, Ms. Dang Thanh Nhu has effectively fulfilled her advisory role in family and social affairs. Thanks to initiatives to strengthen core models and clubs, more than 98% of households across the province now meet the “Five Nos, Three Cleans” criteria. In social welfare, she has worked with Women’s Union organizations at all levels to support and sponsor 1,265 orphaned children, providing nearly VND 15 billion in funding, while also assisting more than 2,000 poor women and those facing adversity.
Ms. Thanh Nhu has also introduced numerous initiatives applying information technology and digital transformation to Women’s Union activities. Launched in 2025, her initiative to utilize artificial intelligence and digital tools for communications and the development of the “Digital Ambassador” model has been successfully sustained, now encompassing 296 operational models with 3,539 members.
She received the Grassroots Emulation Fighter title in 2024 and 2025, along with two Certificates of Merit from the Vietnam Women’s Union Central Committee and one Certificate of Merit from the provincial People’s Committee in 2025.
The award is a personal honor for Ms. Thanh Nhu and a source of pride for Women’s Union officials, members, and women throughout Dong Thap.
