Ensuring Payment Demand During the Lunar New Year
(DTO) To effectively meet the payment needs of residents and businesses during the Lunar New Year 2026, commercial banks in Dong Thap Province have proactively implemented solutions to ensure sufficient cash supply while promoting convenient banking payment services.
BANKS TAKE PROACTIVE MEASURES
These days, transaction activities at commercial banks are becoming increasingly bustling and fast-paced.

Amid the vibrant atmosphere of preparing for Tet, as shopping, spending, and financial transaction demands surge, Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam – Tien Giang Branch (Vietcombank Tien Giang) has proactively deployed comprehensive solutions to ensure safe and uninterrupted payment services, helping residents enjoy a joyful and complete Tet holiday.
Vietcombank Tien Giang currently operates one main branch, five transaction offices, and 34 ATMs across the province. The branch has prepared adequate cash reserves, ensured timely ATM cash replenishment, and increased inspection frequency-especially in densely populated areas, industrial zones, and commercial centers-to meet peak withdrawal demand. Cash safety procedures, including counting, transportation, and storage, are strictly implemented.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet, Director of Vietcombank Tien Giang, said that the branch had proactively inspected and upgraded its transmission systems to ensure stable, continuous 24/7 operation of ATMs, POS terminals, and digital banking services. Staff were also assigned to be on duty during Tet to promptly handle any incidents and avoid service disruptions.
At the same time, to ensure safe and smooth payment operations, Vietcombank Tien Giang has paid special attention to fire prevention and fighting, vault safety, and security and order. The branch has inspected camera and alarm systems and closely coordinated with local police forces to guarantee absolute safety of assets and banking operations during the peak holiday period.
The branch has also stepped up efforts to encourage customers to use cashless payment methods such as VCB Digibank for 24/7 instant transfers, card payments, and QR Code payments.
In addition, it has strengthened communications to warn customers about fraud and scam tactics during Tet, while arranging personnel to provide timely support, customer care, and responses to arising needs.
With thorough preparation, a strong sense of responsibility, and high determination, Vietcombank Tien Giang strives to ensure its banking system operates safely, stably, and smoothly, meeting people’s payment needs during Tet.

To promptly meet the cash withdrawal needs of residents and businesses during the Lunar New Year, Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade – Tien Giang Branch (VietinBank Tien Giang) has proactively developed and implemented comprehensive solutions to ensure sufficient, safe, and smooth cash supply.
Specifically, the branch prepared early ATM cash replenishment plans and increased replenishment frequency before, during, and after Tet. Priority was given to ATMs located in central areas, industrial zones, markets, supermarkets, and densely populated residential areas.
Cash balance monitoring and ATM operation supervision are conducted 24/7, with readiness to promptly handle any arising issues to minimize service interruptions.
In addition, VietinBank Tien Giang has closely coordinated with relevant agencies to ensure the security and safety of its ATM system, thereby best serving residents’ spending, shopping, and cash transaction needs during the Tet holiday.
Mr. Tu Thien Toan, Director of VietinBank Tien Giang, said that alongside ensuring the smooth operation of the ATM system, the branch continues to promote solutions to develop cashless payments, thereby helping to ease pressure on cash withdrawals during the Tet peak period.
The branch has intensified efforts to encourage customers to use e-banking services such as VietinBank iPay, QR Code payments, ATM cards, and credit cards.
At the same time, it has coordinated with payment acceptance units to expand the cashless payment network at shopping venues, service establishments, supermarkets, and convenience stores.
In addition, VietinBank Tien Giang places strong emphasis on communication activities, guiding customers to use services safely and conveniently, while strengthening technical support and customer care throughout the Tet holiday to ensure that payment transactions are carried out quickly, safely, and efficiently .
As for Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development – Tien Giang Branch (Agribank Tien Giang), in response to rising demand for shopping, spending, and financial transactions during Tet, the branch has implemented measures to ensure safe and uninterrupted payment services.
Accordingly, Agribank Tien Giang has proactively ensured stable payment infrastructure. Before Tet, the branch inspects, maintains, and services its entire ATM/CDM/POS system as well as alarm equipment at ATM cabins.
Staff are assigned on duty to replenish ATMs, prevent cash shortages, and handle incidents and complaints 24/7.
At the same time, Agribank Tien Giang has stepped up efforts to encourage customers to shift their transaction habits toward digital banking products, ensuring transaction safety and security.
The bank also enhances communication and customer support activities.
According to actual observations, this year there have been no long queues at bank ATMs as seen in previous years.
Thanks to the convenience of digital transformation, many people now choose cashless payment methods instead of using cash for daily transactions.
ENSURING SMOOTH TRANSACTIONS
According to leaders of State Bank of Vietnam Region 13, on February 9 the unit issued an official document to credit institutions in Dong Thap and Tay Ninh provinces regarding the assurance of safe and uninterrupted cashless payment operations during the Lunar New Year of Binh Ngo 2026.
Accordingly, the State Bank of Vietnam Region 13 requires credit institutions in Dong Thap and Tay Ninh to proactively review and regularly inspect their systems (including transmission lines, power supply, network equipment, servers, and cash reserves) to ensure that payment channels such as ATM/CDM/STM and POS operate continuously and smoothly, meeting customer demand-especially before, during, and after the Lunar New Year holiday.
Institutions are also required to assign personnel on duty 24/7 to promptly handle arising incidents, feedback, and customer complaints related to payment transactions and electronic fund transfers.
Credit institutions are urged to strengthen coordination with local authorities to implement solutions promoting cashless payments.
This includes enhancing communication through appropriate channels, increasing warnings about common electronic payment fraud schemes, and guiding customers on safe and secure transaction practices.
