Experiencing the Floating Season in “Hong Ngu - Colors of the Border Waters”

(DTO) On September 13, the Hong Ngu Ward People’s Committee organized a series of experiential activities for the floating season, themed “Hong Ngu - Colors of the Border Waters,” marking its second edition in 2026.

This year’s series of activities featured a vibrant lineup, deeply rooted in the Mekong Delta's riverine culture. Opening the event was the “Border Floating Market,” where stalls arranged on boats and vessels created a familiar trading space, evoking the unique lifestyle of the river region.

The “Duck Catching and Egg Gathering” experience drew wide interest from the public and tourists. The organizers released roughly 100 ducks and 500 eggs, offering a rustic, joyful playground that recreated the daily activities closely linked to the locals' lives during the floating season.

The program also featured Southern amateur music ("Don Ca Tai Tu") performances titled “Echoes of the Floating Season,” alongside competitions including “Team Sampan Rowing” and “Rural Charm of the Floating Season”.

Welcoming over 10,000 residents and visitors, the festivities not only provided a vibrant space for community bonding and cultural exchange, but also showcased the unique cultural values, lifestyle, and scenic beauty of the Mekong Delta's floating season to a wider audience.
