(DTO) Hong Thuy Vy, born in 2007 and living in Hoa Hamlet, Long Dinh Commune, works as a garment factory worker earning less than six million VND per month. Recently, after discovering a large, unexpected amount in her bank account, she immediately sought a way to return it to the rightful owner.

Hong Thuy Vy hands the money to the police so it can be returned to the person who transferred it by mistake.

On the afternoon of March 12, 2026, Vy’s bank account unexpectedly received 30 million VND from an unknown sender. The amount equaled nearly half a year of her hard work at the garment factory. Realizing the money was not hers, she withdrew the entire sum and went to the headquarters of Long Dinh Commune Police Department to ask the authorities to return it to its owner.

Vy shared: “To me, that was a huge amount. I thought, if someone was in urgent need and accidentally transferred the money to me, it would be terrible if I didn’t return it. If I were the one who transferred money by mistake and the other person refused to give it back, I would be very upset. So I decided to bring it to the police right away.”

Her action was not simply about returning lost property. It affirmed the value of integrity and honesty. Amid the daily hustle and bustle, the kindness of a 19-year-old garment worker from Long Dinh is a gentle reminder that decency still shines through, enriching the image of the people in the Pink Lotus Land.
