Five scientists from VNU Ha Noi listed in Research.com’s 2026 World Scientist Rankings
DTO/NDO- The academic ranking platform Research.com has released its 2026 World Scientist Rankings, with five scientists from Viet Nam National University, Ha Noi (VNU) recognised in the fields of engineering and technology, environmental science, public health, and computer science.
The Research.com rankings are based on the D-index, using bibliometric data from OpenAlex, CrossRef, and several other academic databases, updated to January 12, 2026. Among the nearly 280,000 scientist profiles reviewed worldwide, only those with a D-index of at least 30 and whose publications are predominantly in their respective fields were eligible for inclusion. A scientist’s awards and achievements in their discipline are also taken into account as supplementary criteria.
According to the published results, Professor Nguyen Dinh Duc, DSc, of the VNU University of Engineering and Technology was ranked in the engineering and technology category.
In environmental science, VNU had two scientists included in the rankings: Professor Pham Hung Viet and Associate Professor Tu Binh Minh, both from the VNU University of Science.
In public health, Professor Tran Xuan Bach of the VNU University of Medicine and Pharmacy was ranked. Meanwhile, Associate Professor Le Hoang Son of the VNU Information Technology Institute was listed in the computer science rankings.
Research.com is one of the academic ranking platforms widely referenced by universities around the world when showcasing the research achievements of their faculty members and scientists.
Its rankings are used as a reference source by many higher education and research institutions, including the University of Cambridge, Yale University, Texas A&M University, the University of California San Diego, and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (China).
According to Viet Nam National University, Ha Noi, the inclusion of five of its scientists in the Research.com 2026 World Scientist Rankings further affirms the research capabilities of its faculty members and scientists while also helping to enhance the standing of Vietnamese science on the global research map, particularly in the field of fundamental research.
