Launch of the "Rong Xanh" Hoi Quan (Farmers’ Club): Supporting Dragon Fruit Growers in Tan Thuan Binh
(DTO) On June 16, the Farmers’ Association of Tan Thuan Binh Commune, Dong Thap Province, held a ceremony to launch the "Rong Xanh" Hoi Quan (Farmers’ Club). The Hoi Quan serves as a voluntary community platform for local dragon fruit growers, aiming to strengthen production linkages and enhance the value of agricultural products.
Attending the event was Mr. Le Minh Hoan, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, and former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development (now the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment).
The ceremony was held in a warm and open atmosphere. During the event, Mr. Le Minh Hoan spent considerable time talking with local farmers, sharing insights into the purpose, significance, and core values of the Hoi quan model.

Mr. Le Minh Hoan expressed his hope that the Hoi quan’s 16 members would work together to build a strong production network through joint purchasing and joint selling to drive down costs. He also encouraged them to jointly develop a local brand so that dragon fruit from the area can reach further markets and generate greater economic value. He emphasized that by joining the Hoi quan, farmers would no longer stand alone, as they would receive support from Party committees, local authorities, scientists, research institutes, and educational institutions.
At the ceremony, Mr. Huynh Van Hung, Chairman of the "Rong Xanh" Hoi quan, presented the operating regulations. Under the regulations, meetings will be held regularly at 6:00 p.m. on the 25th of each month at the Quang Khuong Hamlet office in Tan Thuan Binh Commune.
Hoi quan meetings will focus on sharing production experiences, providing updates on market prices, and promoting safe farming practices. Members will also discuss plans to expand membership, strengthen market connections for product consumption, and organize social welfare, charitable, and cultural activities within the local community.
Also at the launch ceremony, leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Environment and Tan Thuan Binh Commune presented flowers and gifts to encourage local farmers to participate in the "Rong Xanh" Hoi quan.
