Literature Exam Rich in Humanistic Values, Guiding Students Toward Goodness
(DTO) On the morning of May 27, a total of 43,459 candidates across Dong Thap Province took the Literature exam of the 2026-2027 10th Grade Entrance Examination.
According to several Literature teachers, the exam was appropriate for students’ abilities, featuring a well-structured and scientific format. Its content was rich in humanistic values, guiding students towards goodness.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Liem, Literature teacher at Le Ngoc Han Secondary School (My Tho Ward), shared: “The Literature exam is comprehensive and scientific, showing a serious investment in quality and a renewed mindset in assessing students’ competencies based on current educational orientations.
The reading comprehension passage carries profound humanistic values and high relevance to contemporary life, touching on core emotional and cognitive issues of students. The social-argumentative question is relatable and practical without falling into predictable patterns. The open-ended topic allows students to freely express personal viewpoints on morality, lifestyle, or responsibility toward the community.”
“The literary-argumentative question raises a thoughtfully crafted issue of reception and literary theory, avoiding rote-learning approaches. Students must truly understand the essence of the work and demonstrate strong analytical and synthesizing skills,” Mr. Nguyen Thanh Liem added.
Meanwhile, Ms. Tu Kim Thoa, Head of the Literature Department at Xuan Dieu Secondary School (My Tho Ward), noted the exam’s strengths: “It has a balanced, scientifically structured format with strong ideological cohesion from reading comprehension to the social-argumentative section. The exam has a high level of differentiation, preventing rote preparation thanks to the open text in the literary-argumentative task, while genuinely stimulating students’ social-argumentative abilities. Both sections carry humanistic values, guiding learners toward goodness, self-responsibility, and deep affection for family and homeland.”
“Regarding difficulty: the exam is moderate but offers good differentiation. Average students can score between 5 and 6.5 points out of 10. To achieve 7.5 to 8.5 or higher, students need sharp argumentative skills in the social-argumentative section and independent artistic evaluation and poetic appreciation in the literary-argumentative part. This is a high-quality exam that closely aligns with current educational reform directions,” Ms. Tu Kim Thoa affirmed.
