(DTO) Military-Economic Division 959 under Military Region 9 recently held a working session with local leaders from the Tan Hong Military-Economic Zone. The meeting, which included representatives from Tan Hong, Tan Ho Co, Tan Thanh, An Phuoc, Tram Chim, and Thuong Phuoc communes, as well as Hong Ngu and Thuong Lac wards, aimed to finalize implementation plans for the 2026 support projects.

Overview of the meeting.

During the session, delegates focused on aligning strategies for four key project groups: infrastructure investment in the Tan Hong Military-Economic Zone; sustainable livelihood and production models for poverty reduction; free medical examinations, healthcare consultations, and medicine distribution; and the deployment of young volunteer intellectuals.

The conference agreed to hand over transport infrastructure to local authorities for management and regular maintenance. Localities were urged to strictly penalize unauthorized road cutting or excavation that damages traffic infrastructure.

Regarding Phase 4 of the Tan Hong Military-Economic Zone project, local authorities will coordinate closely with investors to expedite site clearance and ensure construction stays on schedule.

To support production development, three livestock farming models will be rolled out: breeding cattle, breeding goats , and free-range chicken farming. Eligible households will receive either two Sind-crossbred cows, 5 to 8 breeding goats, or 300 to 500 free-range chickens, with a limit of one model per household. Local administrations will oversee the vetting and selection process, while tightening supervision over project execution.

Regarding the young volunteer intellectuals project, Military-Economic Division 959 requested localities to create favorable conditions and assign tasks that match the volunteers' professional expertise. Localities were also asked to assess their personnel needs for the 2028–2030 period and register them with Military-Economic Division 959.

The productive meeting laid a solid foundation for effective coordination between Military-Economic Division 959 and local authorities, ensuring the 2026 projects foster sustainable development, stability, and prosperity in border areas.

Speaking at the event, Colonel Bui Duy Quan, Commander of Military-Economic Division 959, emphasized that these initiatives aim to improve the material and spiritual well-being of border residents, create sustainable livelihoods, and drive socio-economic growth in tandem with strengthening national defense and security.

He urged local authorities to maintain close cooperation in site clearance and infrastructure protection. Additionally, he stressed the need for a transparent, public review and voting process to ensure aid reaches the rightful beneficiaries.
