(DTO) On July 26, leaders of Military Hospital 120 announced that the hospital had successfully performed its first Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) intervention to treat a thyroid nodule. RFA is a modern, minimally invasive technique that has been widely adopted at major hospitals for the treatment of benign thyroid nodules.

Following a period of training and technology transfer, Military Hospital 120 successfully completed its inaugural RFA case through close collaboration between the hospital's medical team and a department head from Military Hospital 175 who provided direct expert support. The procedure was carried out in full compliance with professional standards, ensuring safety and effectiveness.

This milestone marks a significant stride forward in the hospital's efforts to gradually master advanced medical technologies. It also expands treatment opportunities for local patients, allowing them to access high-quality healthcare without being referred to higher-level hospitals.

The non-surgical procedure leaves no scars, causes minimal pain or complications, and enables rapid recovery.

Going forward,  Military Hospital 120 will continue to strengthen human resource training, invest in modern medical equipment, and acquire additional specialized techniques from leading hospitals. These efforts aim to further improve the quality of healthcare services, thereby better meeting the medical needs of officers, soldiers, and the people.
