Ministry of Education and Training delegation inspects preparations for 2026 national high school graduation exam in Dong Thap.
(DTO) On the afternoon of June 4, a delegation from the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET), led by Mr. Nguyen Anh Dung, Deputy Director General of the Department of Higher Education, conducted an inspection of preparations for the 2026 national high school graduation examination in Dong Thap Province.
According to the Dong Thap Department of Education and Training, the 2026 national high school graduation examination will be held at 71 official test sites and 51 backup locations across the province, with a total of 1,580 examination rooms. A total of 37,138 candidates have registered for the exam, while approximately 6,602 personnel are expected to be mobilized to run the event.

Among the examination sites, four are located in island communes, namely Long Khanh, Long Phu Thuan, Tan Long and Tan Phu Dong. The most remote sites, including Tan Hong High School, Tan Thanh Secondary and High School, and Hong Ngu 3 High School, are situated about 150 kilometers from the provincial Examination Council.
To prepare for the examination, provincial departments, agencies, mass organizations and local authorities at all levels have closely coordinated and provided timely direction to facilitate the organization process. However, the province faces several challenges, including its large geographical area, examination sites located in island communes, long transportation distances for examination papers and answer sheets, and potential impacts from extreme weather conditions during the rainy season.
In response, the Dong Thap Department of Education and Training has proactively coordinated with the police force to develop plans ensuring security, public order and safety at examination sites. Measures include safeguarding examination papers and answer sheets, managing traffic flow, and ensuring the safety of candidates and examination personnel. The department has also strengthened cybersecurity measures to promptly address emerging issues and prevent violations of examination regulations.

At the same time, the provincial Department of Health has prepared contingency plans, assigning medical staff to remain on duty at all examination sites and arranging ambulances throughout the examination and marking periods. The Department of Science and Technology has implemented measures to ensure postal and telecommunications infrastructure for the examination and conducted inspections of surveillance camera systems at all 71 examination sites to meet safety and regulatory requirements.
Meanwhile, People's Committees of communes and wards have proactively issued plans and directives, requiring local agencies, units and organizations to coordinate closely in supporting examination activities, creating favorable conditions for teachers and students, and helping ensure that the examination is conducted safely, seriously, impartially and effectively.
Speaking at the inspection session, Mr. Nguyen Anh Dung highly commended Dong Thap Province’s preparations for the examination. He noted that the close coordination between the education sector and relevant departments and agencies has contributed significantly to organizing a safe, serious and regulation-compliant examination.
Although Dong Thap still faces certain transportation challenges, he praised the province’s proactive planning, particularly its contingency plans for handling unexpected situations. The delegation also suggested that the province consider establishing inter-site rapid response teams with sufficient authority to address and make decisions on issues arising among examination sites, thereby ensuring timely support for candidates.

Regarding the more than 1,000 independent candidates and those exempt from taking the graduation examination, Mr. Nguyen Anh Dung requested the Department of Education and Training to continue reviewing records, providing guidance and accompanying candidates throughout the process to safeguard their rights, particularly in university admission registration.
He stressed that, in addition to continuing investment in examination facilities, relevant units should carefully review examination paper printing and duplication areas to ensure absolute security and safety. While most examination sites have met organizational requirements, further inspections and support should be provided to sites located in remote and disadvantaged areas.
The Deputy Director General Nguyen Anh Dung also emphasized the need to strengthen cybersecurity and information security measures throughout the examination process. In addition, he suggested that the police study the possibility of implementing security screening procedures at examination sites where conditions permit, helping to prevent violations at an early stage, reassuring candidates and supporting invigilators in carrying out their duties effectively.
