The ceremony was held both in person at 17 main venues and connected online to all 17 provinces and cities. Attending the event were General Secretary To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, along with leaders of the Party, Government, cabinet members, and representatives from ministries, provinces and cities where the projects were launched.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, following the groundbreaking of 100 schools in 2025, the Steering Committee reviewed implementation progress and prepared necessary conditions to simultaneously launch construction of 121 additional inter-level boarding schools in the remaining 17 border provinces and cities, in line with the Politburo’s directive under Conclusion Notice No. 81-TB/TW.
In Conclusion Notice No. 81-TB/TW, the 13th Politburo approved the investment policy for 248 schools in mainland border communes. The set objective is to complete the pilot phase of 100 schools before the 2026–2027 academic year, followed by the investment in the remaining 121 schools.
To date, construction of 108 inter-level boarding schools (primary and lower secondary) in 108 border communes is being accelerated to ensure they are put into operation by the 2026–2027 academic year; among them, one school has already been inaugurated and put into use since January 2026.

Among the 121 schools breaking ground in this phase, six are located in the border areas of Dong Thap Province. These inter-level boarding schools include: Thuong Phuoc (Thuong Phuoc Commune), Tan Thanh (Tan Thanh Commune), Tan Ho Co (Tan Ho Co Commune), Tan Hong (Tan Hong Commune), Thuong Thoi Hau (Thuong Lac Ward), and Hong Ngu (Hong Ngu Ward), with a total investment of approximately VND 1.876 trillion
These boarding school projects hold significant importance in perfecting educational infrastructure in border regions, creating superior learning conditions for the development of students in these areas.

Speaking at the main hub in Thuong Phuoc Commune, Vice Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial People’s Committee Huynh Minh Tuan affirmed: “Once completed, these schools will be more than just an achievement for the education sector; they will serve as a steadfast anchor of faith for the people in border areas.
