Strengthening Tourism Cooperation With Indonesian Enterprises
(DTO) On May 7, Trinh Van Loi, Secretary of the Dao Thanh Ward Party Committee, together with My Tho Marina (Dong Thap Province), welcomed a delegation of leaders and more than 1,000 international visitors from Wanderlust Travel Company (Indonesia) arriving to tour and experience tourism activities on Thoi Son Island.
This is the largest foreign tour group ever to dock at My Tho Marina.

According to the plan, the tour group was divided into three shifts to ensure smooth services, safety, and the best possible experience for visitors.

Upon arrival at My Tho Marina, the delegation was greeted with vibrant lion dance performances, showcasing the beauty of traditional culture and the warm hospitality of the local community.
As part of the program, Secretary Trinh Van Loi and representatives of My Tho Marina held a meeting with the leadership of Wanderlust to discuss future cooperation orientations in tourism development.
During the meeting, both sides highly valued Dong Thap’s potential for eco-tourism and experiential tourism, particularly in the Thoi Son Island area.

A representative of Wanderlust shared that Indonesian tourists greatly enjoy tourism products connected to local culture, nature, and the daily life of people in Vietnam’s southwestern region. Following this familiarization trip, the company hopes to continue building connections and bringing more international visitors to Dong Thap in the near future.
Secretary Trinh Van Loi affirmed that the locality always prioritizes creating favorable conditions for tourism enterprises to expand cooperation and develop international visitor markets. He also committed to working with relevant units to enhance service quality and promote a friendly, safe, and professional image of Dong Thap’s tourism sector.

Luong Thi Diem Trang, Chairwoman of Dong Thap Tourism Association and Director of My Tho Port Joint Stock Company, said: “Welcoming such a large international group not only marks a positive sign for the local tourism industry but also opens up many opportunities for long-term cooperation with international travel companies.
This contributes to promoting the image of the Mekong Delta’s waterways and supporting local tourism and economic development in the coming period.
Through cooperation with major Southeast Asian travel enterprises like Wanderlust, My Tho Marina is poised to attract more new visitor segments, supporting sustainable tourism and economic growth for the province in 2026 and beyond.”
After the reception, the tour group traveled by boat to visit key destinations around Thoi Son Island. Here, visitors experienced rowing boats through narrow canals, trying local fruits, enjoying honey tea, listening to don ca tai tu music, and exploring signature eco-tourism models of the riverine region.
