Thien Tam Fund honoured with ASEAN Award for rural development and poverty eradication
DTO/NDO- Within the framework of the ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Rural Development and Poverty Eradication held in Bangkok, Thailand, the Thien Tam Fund (Vingroup) was honoured with the ASEAN Award for Rural Development and Poverty Eradication.
The award recognises the role and outstanding achievements of organisations that have made significant contributions to rural development and poverty eradication efforts across Southeast Asian countries.

The Thien Tam Fund is one of only two organisations representing Viet Nam to have received this award, in recognition of its substantial contributions to poverty reduction as well as its effective engagement in the development of Viet Nam’s rural and agricultural sectors.
Established in 2006 with a spirit of community service, the Thien Tam Fund has grown into one of Viet Nam’s largest and most enduring private charitable foundations, steadfastly pursuing its mission “For a better life for everyone”.
From 2006 to November 2025, the fund allocated nearly 32 trillion VND to social welfare and humanitarian programmes, providing practical support to more than 10 million people across 34 provinces and cities. The fund places particular emphasis on honouring those who rendered service to the nation, caring for nearly 1,000 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, and supporting more than 25,000 disadvantaged families under preferential policies.
Commenting on the honour, Ly Minh Tuan, Director of the Thien Tam Fund, said: “The ASEAN Award is a valuable recognition of the Thien Tam Fund’s persistent efforts over nearly 20 years in supporting the Vietnamese people, especially vulnerable communities. This honour provides further motivation for us to expand our humanitarian programmes, strengthen the application of science and technology, and develop sustainable support models, thereby making a practical contribution to the region’s inclusive development initiatives”.
