Vice Chairman of National Assembly Le Minh Hoan Visits Dong Hoa Hiep Ancient Village
(DTO) On the afternoon of December 12, the working delegation led by Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Le Minh Hoan paid a visit and conducted a field survey at the Dong Hoa Hiep Ancient Village in Cai Be Commune, Dong Thap Province.
Accordingly, the delegation visited the ancient houses dating back approximately 100 to 200 years, thereby gaining an understanding of the history of the ancient village's formation, the process of heritage preservation across many generations, and the distinctive cultural life of the local community.
The owners of the ancient houses introduced the delegation to the architectural value, the preserved artifacts, and the stories associated with the formation of the former Cai Be region.

The working delegation highly appreciated the initiative of the ancient house owners in participating in heritage preservation and cultural tourism development.
Concurrently, the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Le Minh Hoan also shared orientations for tourism development in the current period, highlighting the “Interactive Tourism” model. - a prevalent trend focused on authentic, practical experience, ensuring that visitors are enabled not merely to sightsee but also to integrate themselves into the quotidian life of the local populace.
According to the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Cai Be Commune with the setting of Dong Hoa Hiep Ancient Village, the picturesque orchard landscape, and the rustic lifestyle of the Mekong Delta residents, holds many advantages for implementing this model. This will be a suitable direction, assisting Đông Hòa Hiệp tourism to achieve more sustainable, distinct, and culturally enriching development in the future.
It is known that from the late 19th century and early 20th century, many houses were built using precious woods, spacious tiled roofs, featuring high and an architectural style combining Eastern and Western influences. These houses, hidden beside the river and cool fruit gardens, have contributed to creating the outstanding architectural appearance and landscape of Dong Hoa Hiep Ancient Village compared to other localities.
