Viet Nam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism to host Viet Nam's Ethnic Culture Day
DTO/NDO- The programme celebrating Viet Nam's Ethnic Culture Day (April 19), held at the Viet Nam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism, features a wide range of diverse, distinctive and attractive activities.
The programme will place from April 17 to April 19, with the participation of more than 300 artisans and representatives of the 54 ethnic groups from 34 provinces and cities.
Activities within the programme include a national conference on implementing ethnic cultural work and honouring village elders, village heads, artisans and prestigious individuals; tribute-paying ceremonies, visits to the Mausoleum of President Ho Chi Minh, and meetings with Party and State leaders; community exchanges among ethnic groups to celebrate Viet Nam's Ethnic Culture Day; and performances and presentations showcasing local heritage and culture.

Within the heritage and cultural performance segment, numerous activities are featured, such as the re-enactment of the Ok-Om-Bok Festival, also known as the Moon Worship Festival, of the Khmer ethnic group in Vinh Long Province; performances of traditional heritage and music of ethnic groups in Vinh Long Province; the introduction and practice of traditional crafts; exhibitions and displays promoting tourism and cuisine; books, newspapers and magazines; photo exhibitions; and OCOP products of Vinh Long Province.
In addition, visitors will have the opportunity to experience the cultural colours of the Chu Ru ethnic group in Lam Dong Province through the re-enactment of the New Rice Celebration Ceremony – Mo nhum bok koh, along with folk singing and dancing exchanges under the theme “Call of the village”.
Furthermore, within the framework of the programme, there will be a re-enactment of the two-stage wedding ceremony of the Thai ethnic group in Thanh Hoa Province; the exchange programme “Colours of the highlands”; and an introduction to the cultural identity of the Tay ethnic group in Quang Ninh Province, folk singing and dancing exchanges, and presentations of Then singing and Tinh lute performances, a performance showcasing the intangible cultural heritage of humanity by the Tay ethnic group in Quang Ninh province, as well as exchanges with ethnic communities from the northern region currently living and working daily at the Village.
In addition, there will be exhibitions of images and typical products, interactive activities, and hands-on experiences in practising Then singing and Tinh lute performances of the Tay ethnic group in Quang Ninh Province.
