Youth from Dong Thap Newspaper & Radio, Television Reach Out to Border Area

(DTO) On March 29, in Thuong Phuoc Commune, the Youth Union of Dong Thap Newspaper & Radio, Television, together with the Thuong Phuoc Commune Youth Union, the Thuong Phuoc International Border Guard Station, and sponsoring partners, held the 2026 “Youth Month - Border March” program.

The event marked the 95th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2026), aiming to foster pioneering spirit, community service, and social welfare in the border area. In attendance were Ngo Thi Ngoc Hanh, Party Secretary and Editor-in-Chief of Dong Thap Newspaper & Radio, Television; Captain To Nhut Truong, Deputy Political Officer of the Thuong Phuoc International Border Guard Station; and local leaders.

Scholarships presented to students in difficult circumstances in Thuong Phuoc Commune

During the program, the Youth Union of Dong Thap Newspaper & Radio, Television, working with four partner organizations, presented 70 scholarships to disadvantaged primary, lower-secondary, and upper-secondary students in Thuong Phuoc, with a total value of 35 million VND. The sponsors included Agribank (Dong Thap Branch); VietinBank (Dong Thap Branch); Dong Thap Lottery One-Member Limited Liability Company; and Sac Mau, a business household.

The Dong Thap Newspaper & Radio, Television Youth Union presents flowers to partner units and local representatives.

The program also delivered gifts under the “Supporting Students to School - Adopted Children of the Border Guard” initiative to students sponsored by the Thuong Phuoc International Border Guard Station.

The delegation visited Border Marker 240 at the Thuong Phuoc International Border Gate and carried out the flag-saluting ceremony.

The delegation later offered incense at the Memorial Stele honoring soldiers who fell on the Southwestern battlefield, located within the Thuong Phuoc International Border Guard Station, expressing deep gratitude to those who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s defense. They also visited Border Marker 240 at the Thuong Phuoc International Border Gate and performed the flag-saluting ceremony.

These activities help instill patriotism and strengthen the sense of responsibility among Youth Union members and young people in safeguarding the nation’s border sovereignty.

The delegation presents the national flag and a portrait of President Ho Chi Minh to residents of Thuong Phuoc Commune.

Earlier, in response to Youth Month activities, the Youth Union of Dong Thap Newspaper & Radio, Television, along with the Tan Thanh Commune Youth Union and sponsors, organized an educational support program in Tan Thanh Commune, delivering gifts to disadvantaged students. The organizers provided 10 scholarships (200,000 VND each) and 10 “study corners” (1.15 million VND each) to 20 disadvantaged students. The total budget of 13.5 million VND was supported by the Dong Thap Young Entrepreneurs Association, Agribank (Dong Thap Branch), and Agribank Insurance Can Tho.
These meaningful “Youth Month - Border March” activities reaffirm the spirit of pioneering and volunteerism among young members of Dong Thap Newspaper & Radio, Television in their efforts to serve the community.
